གསོ་བ་མེད་པས་རྐྱེན་ཤེས་པ་ཡོངས་སུ་དག་པ་དང་། འཁོར་གསུམ་ཡོངས་སུ་གཅོད་པས་དུས་གསུམ་ཤེས་པ་ཡོངས་སུ་དག་པ་དང་། ཤེས་རབ་ཀྱི་ཕ་རོལ་ཏུ་ཕྱིན་པ་ཡེ་ཤེས་ཐམས་ཅད་ལ་འཇུག་པས་ཐམས་ཅད་མཁྱེན་པའི་ཡེ་ཤེས་ཡོངས་སུ་དག་པ་སྟེ། Please allow me, the gatherer, to proceed with confidence, starting from the teachings of the Dharma. Having said this, Manjushri Kumara spoke these words to the son of the gods, Shri Sampanna, and the retinue complete with everything: Friends, these four dharmas are those by which Bodhisattvas gather all virtuous dharmas. What are the four? Namely, hearing that abides in morality, wisdom that abides in meditation, prajna that abides in supernormal knowledge, and carefulness that is skilled in means. Friends, these four dharmas are those by which Bodhisattvas gather all virtuous dharmas. Friends, one enters into morality through eight kinds of complete purity. How does one enter through eight kinds of complete purity? Namely, one enters through the aspect of purity of body, one enters through the aspect of purity of speech, one enters through the aspect of purity of mind, one enters through the aspect of purity of thought, one enters through the aspect of purity of livelihood, one enters through the aspect of purity of diminishing learned qualities and possessions, one enters through the aspect of completely abandoning all pretense, flattery, cajolery, and measuring everything by gain, and one enters through the aspect of not forgetting the mind of enlightenment. Friends, in this way, one enters into morality through eight kinds of complete purity. Friends, hearing is completely purified through eight aspects. What are the eight aspects? Namely, complete purity through respect for the lama, complete purity through destroying pride, complete purity through obtaining diligence and samadhi, complete purity through unforgetting mindfulness, complete purity through teaching and excellent explanation, complete purity through not praising oneself and not disparaging others, complete purity through proper reflection, and complete purity through practicing the Dharma as it has been heard. Friends, in this way, hearing is completely purified through eight aspects. Friends, meditation is completely purified through eight aspects. What are the eight aspects? Namely, complete purity through dwelling in solitary places and delighting in seclusion, complete purity through abandoning busyness, complete purity through not associating with worldly matters, and through the body

Namely: seeing all forms without obstruction, the divine eye is completely purified; hearing all sounds without obstruction, the divine ear is completely purified; observing the conduct of the minds of all sentient beings, knowing the minds of others is completely purified; without obstruction and without attachment, remembering the past, the knowledge of remembering past abodes is completely purified; going to limitless Buddha fields, the activity of miraculous powers is completely purified; knowing the exhaustion of all defilements, eliminating and completely abandoning what is untimely, the exhaustion of defilements is completely purified; being free from all deceit and arrogance, directly realizing the roots of virtue is completely purified; making the vows previously made fall under one's control, revealing knowledge is completely purified. Friends, in this way, direct knowledge is completely purified in eight ways. Friends, in this way, in eight ways, wisdom is completely purified. What are the eight ways?
