How could the intention of each Tathagata not be accomplished by the power of aspiration, as it is recited? In this way, it is reasonable to think that it cannot be transformed by the power of aspiration. Even abandoning the lower realms, he became silent. Then, the Immaculate Girl, having given, said to the Bodhisattva Sarvanivaranaviskambhin, "Noble son, you have said, 'I should generate such a thought that in the great city of Shravasti, the five obscurations of all beings will be completely removed.' So, does this samadhi depend on myself? Or does it depend on others? If it depends on myself, then it is of an unchanging nature. How, when you are in meditative equipoise, do you completely pacify the obscurations of others? If it depends on others, then that samadhi is not yours. Whatever is not yours does not act to benefit others." The Bodhisattva Sarvanivaranaviskambhin said, "Noble daughter, my action is preceded by loving-kindness." The Immaculate Girl, having given, said, "Noble son, since all Buddhas, Bhagavat, abide in loving-kindness, then in the Buddha-fields, beings will not be harmed by obscurations." The Bodhisattva Sarvanivaranaviskambhin also became silent. Then, the Immaculate Girl, having given, said to the Bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara, "Noble son, you have said, 'I should generate such a thought that in any case, whatever beings are bound in the city, and those who are led to be killed, will be liberated, and those who are threatened by fear will also obtain fearlessness.' So, is your action accompanied by taking? Or is it without taking? If that action is accompanied by taking, then even ordinary people are accompanied by taking, and then it is the same as ordinary people. That is also unreasonable. If that action is not accompanied by taking, then it is unconditioned."

For the manifested unconditioned, there is no approaching realization. The Bodhisattva Avalokiteśvara, the powerful one, also became silent. Then the Bodhisattva Heap of Courage spoke thus to the Bodhisattva Avalokiteśvara, the powerful one: Avalokiteśvara, powerful one, please answer the questions asked by the daughter! The Bodhisattva Avalokiteśvara, the powerful one, said: Daughter, birth and cessation are not the same, so I cannot answer. The daughter Immaculate Giving said: Avalokiteśvara, powerful one, where there is no birth and no cessation, there is no question. The Bodhisattva Avalokiteśvara, the powerful one, said: Daughter, where there is no birth and no cessation, there is no entry of letters. The daughter said: For all dharmas without entry and without letters, the wise do not show letters and entry, and do not cling to letters. Non-clinging is the realm of dharma, and for the sake of realizing it, there is no clinging. The Bodhisattva Avalokiteśvara, the powerful one, also became silent. Then the daughter Immaculate Giving spoke thus to the Bodhisattva Heap of Courage: Son of good family, you said, 'By what means in the city will all beings speak to each other with metrical tones and with a mind of loving-kindness, and also gain courage? I shall contemplate such a thought.' Is the courage you speak of, which is close to realization, produced by conceptualization? Or does it arise from no cause? If it is produced by conceptualization, then all conditioned things are also produced by conceptualization, and thus they will not be completely pacified. If it arises from no cause, then it will become a false imputation of what has not arisen. The Bodhisattva Heap of Courage said: Daughter, may all beings who appear in my sight gain courage. This aspiration of mine has been made since I first generated the mind of enlightenment. Daughter Immaculate Giving
