May the answer to the girl's question be obtained. The venerable Maudgalyayana said: The girl is asking a question that destroys all wisdom, therefore it is impossible to answer. Then, the immaculate girl gave to the venerable Ananda and said this: Thus, venerable Ananda, you are shown by the Blessed One to be the foremost of those who have heard much, so, is it the hearing much itself that is important? Or is it the words and syllables that are important? If one considers the meaning to be important, then the meaning is unspeakable and indescribable, it is not something to be known by ear consciousness, nor is it something to be known by mind consciousness. Such a state is impossible to indicate. If one considers the words and syllables to be important, then the Blessed One has said that one should rely on the meaning and not rely on the words and syllables. Therefore, the venerable Ananda's hearing much itself is not reliable. Then the venerable Ananda also became silent. Then Manjushri, who had become a youth, said to the venerable Ananda: Venerable Ananda, may the answer to the girl's question be obtained. Ananda said: The girl is asking about something that is separate from letters, therefore it is impossible to satisfy her with sound. The girl is asking about the equality that is separate from mind, if it is not a learner, how can it be indicated? It must be asked of the Tathagata, the lord of Dharma. Then, the immaculate girl gave to Manjushri, who had become a youth, and said this: Manjushri, you are shown by the Tathagata to be the foremost of the Bodhisattvas who have faith in the profound, so, is it that dependent arising is profound that makes you profound? Or is it that intrinsic nature is profound that makes you profound? If it is that dependent arising is profound that makes you profound, then there is no Dharma that has dependent arising. What is the reason for that? Like this, dependent arising is not gone, nor is it coming. Dependent arising is not something to be known by eye consciousness, nor is it something to be known by mind consciousness, and it is not dualistic and is universal.

It is because there is no arising. If the essence is profound and profound, then no one can examine any essence. Manjushri said: Daughter, because the true limit is profound, I am profound. The daughter Immaculate Giving said: Manjushri, the true limit is not a limit, therefore it is not sought by consciousness. Manjushri said: Daughter, this so-called true limit is a meaningless word without an object. The daughter Immaculate Giving said: Manjushri, the absence of an object is not any meaningless word, the absence of an object is truly beyond meaningless words. Manjushri said: Daughter, how should this be shown to others? The daughter said: Manjushri, the enlightenment of the Tathagatas is truly beyond showing, and it cannot be shown with words. Manjushri also became silent. Then, the daughter Immaculate Giving said to the Bodhisattva Seeing Meaningfully: Son of good family, you say this, in any case, all those born in the city, or women, or boys, or girls, all those who appear in my sight, all of them will see the form of the Tathagata, I should generate such a thought. What you said, is that to see the form body of the Tathagata? Or is it to see the Dharma body? If it is to see the form body, that is not the Buddha's teaching, the Bhagavan once said this: Those who see me as form, those who know me as sound, are those who possess desire and attachment, those people cannot see me. If the Dharma body of the Tathagata is to be seen, then the Dharma body cannot be shown. Why is that? The Dharma body of the Tathagatas is truly beyond eye consciousness, it is because it cannot be seen. Seeing Meaningfully also became silent. Bodhisattva Jewel Crest said: Seeing Meaningfully, get the answer to the daughter's question. Seeing Meaningfully said: The daughter is asking about non-things, that

nor can he teach. The maiden Immaculate Giving said: I do not ask about things or non-things. First learn the teaching, and then show it. The seer was meaningful, but he did not say anything. Then the maiden Immaculate Giving said to the bodhisattva Jewel Crest: Son of good family, you said, 'By what means can I contemplate the thought that treasures filled with jewels will arise in all the houses in this city?' Do you benefit with contamination, or do you benefit without contamination? If you benefit with contamination, then there will be no difference from the benefit of ordinary people. Why is that? Because the happiness of ordinary people is for the sake of contamination. If you benefit without contamination, then it is impossible to accomplish without contamination. Jewel Crest also did not say anything. Then the maiden Immaculate Giving said to the bodhisattva Abandoning the Bad Realms: Son of good family, you said, 'By what means can I contemplate the thought that whatever evil deeds sentient beings in this city will experience in the bad realms, they will also experience a small field in this life?' The Tathagata has shown that karma is inconceivable, and you should not contemplate it. If you contemplate it, you will be contradicting the Tathagata's teachings. If you do not contemplate it, then how can you make the karma that would be experienced greatly be experienced as a small field in this life without knowing it? One will find an owner for ownerless dharmas. If you do that, you will be contradicting the Tathagata's teachings. Abandoning the Bad Realms said: By the power of aspiration, I will make the karma that would be experienced greatly be experienced slightly. The daughter said: Son of good family, the nature of dharmas cannot be changed by the power of aspiration. If it could be changed, then all sentient beings would completely
