།རྒྱལ་པོ་ཆེན་པོ་སྤོབས་པ་ཕུན་སུམ་ཚོགས་པར་འགྱུར་བའི་མི་འཕྱ་བ་དང་འཐིང་སླད་མི་བགྱིད་པ་ནི་བྱང་ཆུབ་སེམས་དཔའི་འཁོར་ལགས་སོ། Great King, upholding hearing in order to fully uphold the sacred Dharma is the retinue of the Bodhisattva. Great King, upholding the sacred Dharma in order to truly uphold the teachings of all the Tathagatas is the retinue of the Bodhisattva. Great King, dwelling in a monastery in order to perfect all roots of virtue is the retinue of the Bodhisattva. Great King, a pure life in order to make unbelieving beings believe is the retinue of the Bodhisattva. Great King, being mindful in order to accomplish the deeds of the Bodhisattva is the retinue of the Bodhisattva. Then, King Clear Joy rejoiced, was satisfied, and delighted. Having generated great joy, delight, and peace of mind, he gave a thousand pairs of silk cloths suitable for a king to Certainty, intending them to be used for the Dharma. Certainty said: Great King, I know that you have shown me respect and offerings. I have a garment made of a hundred pieces of rotten cloth, and I do not want clothes that are held onto and possessed. Great King, in the springtime, this garment of rotten cloth pieces is hung on a tree branch, and even if it stays there for one year, two years, ten years, or a hundred years, no one takes it, and no one develops a mind of attachment to it. There are times when I abandon it and do not even look at it. Great King, I do not want clothes that are held onto and possessed. Great King, a Bodhisattva is one who abandons desire even for himself and does not cause others to generate desire. I will cut such clothes. The king said: Certainty, if that is the case, if you do not accept these pairs of silk cloths, then out of compassion for me, trample on them with your feet.

Then, the person named "Certainty" said, "I will act like a god." Having said that, he trampled on those two pieces of cloth with his feet and left. The king said, "Certainty, what should be done with these two pieces of cloth that have been demeaned by your feet?" "Certainty" replied, "Great King, please bestow them upon those poor, naked beings who have no clothes." The king said, "Certainty, it shall be done as you say." So he ordered his men to carry it out. And they did as they were commanded. As soon as those poor people received the two pieces of cloth, they immediately thought, "How should I repay 'Certainty'?" Through the blessing of the Buddha and the power of "Certainty's" aspiration, they heard these verses from the sky: To repay kindness as desired, flowers, incense, and anointing oils, food, drink, and wealth cannot suffice, only bodhicitta pleases Certainty. Certainty does not crave food and clothing, nor does he crave fame and gain, Certainty only desires the Dharma of bodhicitta, bodhicitta brings joy to Certainty.
