The realm of space and the realm of consciousness are also impermanent, unstable, and subject to change. Whatever is impermanent is suffering. Whatever is suffering is without self. Thus, the six realms are fully understood. When these teachings are heard, held, practiced extensively, and fully contemplated, the aggregates of form, feeling, perception, mental formations, and consciousness, these five aggregates are fully understood. Form is like an executioner, it is bad, it is destructive, and it does not last long. Feeling is like a water bubble, it is bad, it is destructive, and it does not last long. Perception is like a mirage, it is bad, it is destructive, and it does not last long. Mental formations are like a banana tree, it is bad, it is destructive, and it does not last long. Consciousness is like an illusion, it is bad, it is destructive, and it does not last long. Thus, the five aggregates are fully understood. When these teachings are heard, held, practiced extensively, and fully contemplated, the six inner sense bases are fully understood. The inner sense base of the eye, and the ear, and the nose, and the tongue, and the mind, these are called the six inner sense bases. Among them, the inner sense base of the eye is subject to sickness, subject to aging, subject to death, empty of self and what belongs to self, and the fire of desire, and the fire of hatred, and the fire of delusion are universally blazing, and it is fully understood that it is universally blazing with birth, aging, sickness, death, sorrow, lamentation, suffering, displeasure, and agitation, and that it is universally blazing with suffering. Similarly, the ear, and the nose, and the tongue, and the body, and the inner sense base of the mind are also subject to sickness, subject to aging, subject to death, empty of self and what belongs to self, and the fire of desire, and the fire of hatred, and the fire of delusion are universally blazing, and it is fully understood that it is universally blazing with birth, aging, sickness, death, sorrow, lamentation, suffering, displeasure, and agitation, and that it is universally blazing with suffering.

Knowing, in this way, the six internal sources of arising are completely known. Furthermore, the six external sources of arising are completely known, namely: forms that are cognizable by the eye are external sources of arising; sounds that are cognizable by the ear; smells that are cognizable by the nose; tastes that are cognizable by the tongue; tactile objects that are cognizable by the body; and dharmas that are cognizable by the mind are external sources of arising, which are to be known, that is, these six sources of arising. Among them, forms that are cognizable by the eye, as external sources of arising, are without refuge, without protector, without strength, and weak. In them, there is nothing that is permanent, stable, real, suchness, non-erroneous suchness, or non-other suchness. However, illusion exists, what is created by illusion exists, what bewilders the mind exists, whatever exists is like that. Similarly, sounds that are cognizable by the ear, smells that are cognizable by the nose, tastes that are cognizable by the tongue, tactile objects that are cognizable by the body, and dharmas that are cognizable by the mind, as external sources of arising, are also without refuge, without protector, without strength, and weak. In them, there is nothing that is permanent, stable, real, suchness, non-erroneous suchness, or non-other suchness. However, illusion exists, what is created by illusion exists, what bewilders the mind exists, whatever exists is like that. In this way, the six external sources of arising are completely known. By listening to, upholding, extensively explaining, and completely understanding these teachings, the four noble truths are completely known. Which four? The noble truth of suffering, the noble truth of the origin of suffering, the noble truth of the cessation of suffering, and the noble truth of the path leading to the cessation of suffering, these are called the four noble truths. The five aggregates, the six elements, the six internal sources of arising, and the six external sources of arising, all of these are called suffering. This suffering is impermanent, painful, disease, ulcer, pain, sin, and self.
