It will not turn into great wealth. Whatever is given is the action of a noble person. Whatever is kept at home is the action of a bad person. Whatever is given is the praise of all the Buddhas. Whatever is kept at home should be regarded as being praised by childish beings. Householder, in this way, a bodhisattva householder should take the essence. Householder, furthermore, when a bodhisattva householder sees a beggar, he should generate three perceptions. What are the three? Perceiving him as a virtuous friend, perceiving that he will become great wealth in the next life, and perceiving that he is showing the path to enlightenment closely. Householder, when a bodhisattva householder sees a beggar, he should generate these three perceptions. Householder, furthermore, when a bodhisattva householder sees a beggar, he should generate three perceptions. What are the three? The perception of cutting off miserliness, the perception of completely giving away all possessions, and the perception of looking at the wisdom of omniscience. 如果贪欲、嗔恨和愚痴变得微薄,那么,对于布施财物而心怀平等和完全舍弃,这就是他的贪欲变得微薄。对于乞求者亲近地修习慈爱,这就是他的嗔恨变得微薄。布施财物后,将功德完全回向于无上正等觉,这就是他的愚痴变得微薄。居士,如此这般,菩萨在家者见到乞求者,贪欲、嗔恨和愚痴就会变得微薄。 居士,此外,菩萨在家者见到乞求者,修习六波罗蜜多就会圆满。居士,对于这位菩萨在家者来说,一旦有人向他乞讨任何财物,他都不会以心执着于该财物。如此这般,他修习布施波罗蜜多就会圆满。依靠菩萨而完全布施,如此这般,他修习持戒波罗蜜多就会圆满。对于乞求者亲近地修习慈爱,不发怒,也不怀有害人之心,如此这般,他修习忍辱波罗蜜多就会圆满。如果布施后心想“用什么呢”,不因此而退缩,如此这般,他修习精进波罗蜜多就会圆满。给予乞求者,给予后也没有痛苦和后悔。无论何时都欢喜和非常满足,快乐也生起,心也感到快乐,安住在菩提心中而布施,如此这般,他修习禅定波罗蜜多就会圆满。布施后,对于一切法都不执着,也不期望果报。如同那些智者对于任何法都不执着,同样不执着,将功德完全回向于无上正等觉。如此这般,他修习智慧波罗蜜多就会圆满。居士,如此这般,菩萨在家者见到乞求者,六波罗蜜多就会圆满。 第二品。 居士,此外,菩萨

If desire, hatred, and delusion become thin, then, with regard to giving away possessions, being equanimous and completely abandoning, this is his desire becoming thin. For those who beg, closely cultivating loving-kindness, this is his hatred becoming thin. Having given possessions, completely dedicating the merit to unsurpassed perfect enlightenment, this is his delusion becoming thin. Householder, in this way, when a Bodhisattva householder sees a beggar, desire, hatred, and delusion will become thin. Householder, furthermore, when a Bodhisattva householder sees a beggar, the practice of the six perfections will be perfected. Householder, for this Bodhisattva householder, as soon as someone begs him for anything, he does not mentally cling to that thing. In this way, his practice of the perfection of generosity will be perfected. Relying on the Bodhisattva and completely giving, in this way, his practice of the perfection of discipline will be perfected. For those who beg, closely cultivating loving-kindness, not being angry, and not harboring harmful thoughts, in this way, his practice of the perfection of patience will be perfected. If, after giving, one thinks, "What will I use?" without shrinking back because of this, in this way, his practice of the perfection of diligence will be perfected. Giving to the beggar, and even after giving, there is no suffering or regret. Whenever one is joyful and very content, happiness also arises, and the mind also feels happy, abiding in the mind of enlightenment and giving, in this way, his practice of the perfection of meditation will be perfected. After giving, not fixating on all phenomena and not expecting ripening. Just as those wise ones do not fixate on any dharma, similarly, without fixation, completely dedicating the merit to unsurpassed perfect enlightenment.
