Manifesting with a mind that is unattached and non-grasping, without thought like the falling of cotton seeds, how to fulfill vows completely, accomplish the tasks of others, completely abandon one's own affairs, not expecting repayment when helping others, not retaliating against harm, remembering kindness, perceiving benefits, performing virtuous deeds, properly distributing wealth to the poor, subduing the arrogance of the powerful, dispelling fear for the frightened, alleviating the suffering of the afflicted, enduring and accepting the weak, completely abandoning pride, even more than pride itself, Respecting the lamas, relying on those who have heard much, consulting with the wise, having upright views, acting without deceit, being without deception, being without pretense, loving all sentient beings, never being satisfied in seeking what is virtuous, not becoming arrogant due to having heard much, having firm faith in what has been undertaken, associating with noble beings, having compassion for non-noble beings, having steadfast friendship, maintaining equanimity towards friends and enemies, not concealing the teacher's teachings on all the Buddha's doctrines, fully explaining the Dharma as it has been heard, practicing the meaning of what has been heard accordingly, perceiving all things that bring joy and pleasure as impermanent, perceiving the body as impure, perceiving life as a dewdrop, perceiving possessions as illusion and mirage, perceiving children and spouses as the Avici hell, perceiving the end of fields and household chores and the accumulation of various clothes as the suffering of poverty, perceiving the act of seeking everywhere as the destruction of the roots of virtue, perceiving the home as an executioner, perceiving friends, ministers, relatives, and in-laws as the guards of the hell realms, perceiving the distinction between day and night as a meaningless measurement, perceiving meaningless enjoy

It is to understand taking the essence from meaningless conduct. What is understanding taking the essence from a meaningless body? It is being happy to do the work of others, speaking respectfully to the lamas, doing prostrations, standing up, joining palms, and bowing. This is called understanding taking the essence from a meaningless body. What is understanding taking the essence from a meaningless life? It is to increase the roots of virtue that were previously done, which have been diminished. This is called understanding taking the essence from a meaningless life. What is understanding taking the essence from meaningless enjoyments? It is to cut off the mind of stinginess, generate a mind of great generosity, and properly establish giving. This is called understanding taking the essence from meaningless enjoyments. Householder, therefore, a Bodhisattva householder should do such excellent deeds of a noble person, and not do the deeds of a bad person. If he does so, he will not be blamed by the Tathagatas, but will be speaking reasonably and teaching the Dharma. For example, the vow previously made for unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment will not be lost, and will not be completely lost. Householder, furthermore, a Bodhisattva householder is one who completely upholds all the bases of training. For example, having taken up the bases of training, he should abandon killing, give up sticks, give up weapons, have a sense of shame, have compassion, have a nature of non-harming towards all living beings, and constantly abide in love with an equal mind towards all sentient beings. He should abandon taking what is not given, be content with his own possessions, not rejoice in the possessions of others, have no greed or envy, not desire the wealth of others, and not even take grass or leaves that are not given. He should abandon sexual misconduct, be content with his own wife, and not desire the wife of another.

And, one should strive to contemplate without attachment, looking with unattached eyes, with a joyful mind and desires, thinking that these are extremely painful. When a thought of desire arises towards one's own wife, since one is controlled by afflictions, one should look at one's own wife with disgust and cultivate desire with a fearful mind. One should not be bound by attachment, but should recognize impermanence, suffering, selflessness, and impurity. Therefore, how could I ever indulge in desire even in the nine places with my mind, let alone engage in sexual intercourse or enter non-limb areas? I will never do that. One should avoid lying, and should speak truthfully, correctly, and act as one speaks, without deceiving, with perfect intention, and with mindfulness and awareness. One should speak truthfully about what one sees and hears, and protect the Dharma. Even for the sake of preserving life and body, one should not lie with awareness. One should avoid drinking intoxicating beverages such as grain alcohol and mixed alcohol, and should be without noise, without intoxication, without confusion, without improper speech, without arrogance, without rudeness, without distraction, and maintain mindfulness and awareness. Then, one should generate the determination to give away all possessions, and give food to those who want food, and give drink to those who want drink. If someone wants to give alcohol to others, they should think: Now is the time for the perfection of giving, now is the time to give whatever is desired, I should do this, whoever it is, I will give them good alcohol, and let them maintain mindfulness and awareness in non-confused behavior. Why? Because perfecting all intentions is the purification of the bodhisattva's perfection of giving. Householder, in this way, even if a bodhisattva householder gives alcohol to others, the Tathagatas will not blame them for it. Householder.
