Moreover, whatever arises from the mind that is associated with virtue, or associated with the Buddha, or associated with the Dharma, or associated with the Sangha, or associated with weariness and detachment, or associated with purification, taming, and pacification, even if one were to attend to the teacher for as many eons as there are, householder, one would still not have completed the task of regarding the teacher as a teacher. Householder, one should also understand in this way how, in this manner, limitless Dharma is matured and limitless wisdom is realized. Householder, therefore, inquiring about maturing limitless Dharma and realizing limitless wisdom, the bodhisattva thinks, "My teacher is also limitless," and thus engages in limitless practice of the Dharma. Householder, furthermore, after a bodhisattva has gone forth, he should abide in the practice of going forth. Householder, how does a bodhisattva who has gone forth abide in the practice of going forth? Householder, here, after a bodhisattva has gone forth, he learns upon hearing that the discipline is completely pure. These four are completely pure discipline. Which four? Abiding in the noble lineages, being delighted in reducing the qualities and requisites of learning, not mixing with householders and those who have gone forth, and abiding in solitary places without pretense. These four are completely pure discipline. Householder, furthermore, there are four completely pure disciplines. Which four? By subduing the body, not fixating on the body; by subduing speech, not fixating on speech; by subduing the mind, not fixating on the mind; and by generating the mind of omniscience, free from views. These four are completely pure discipline. Householder, furthermore, there are four completely pure disciplines. Which four? Abandoning self-grasping, abandoning grasping at what is mine, being free from nihilism and eternalism, and entering into dependent arising. These four are completely pure discipline.
