Will go equally. To act equally is to become equal. In this regard, if I treat all beings who should not be treated unequally with equality, then I will comprehend omniscience. Householder, thus, a Bodhisattva householder should not grasp at anything, thinking it is mine. He should not be attached. He should not harbor the latent tendencies of deceit and craving. Householder, if a Bodhisattva householder does not grasp at anything, thinking it is mine. He should not be attached. He should not harbor the latent tendencies of deceit and craving. Householder, if a beggar comes to a Bodhisattva householder and asks for something needed, if he does not give the object, he should definitely think like this: Whether I give this object or not, I will inevitably be separated from this object, and I will also die unwillingly, and this object will also abandon me, and I will also abandon this object. Having given up this object, I will be happy in my heart, take its essence, and make it the time of death. If this is not completely given up, my mind will not be completely occupied and abide at the time of my death. By giving this up, I will have joy, supreme joy, satisfaction, and no regret at the time of my death. One should definitely think like this. If even thinking like this, he is still unable to give up that thing, then he should inform the beggar with three understandable ways: I am still weak and the roots of virtue have not fully matured, and I am a beginner in the Great Vehicle, and I am controlled by the mind of not giving up, and I abide in the view of taking and abandoning, and in self-grasping and grasping at what is mine, so please, noble one, be patient and do not be completely angry. I will act in such a way that your wishes and the wishes of all sentient beings will be fulfilled. I will accomplish it in that way. I will strive in that way. Householder, thus, a Bodhisattva householder should inform the beggar with three understandable ways. Householder, furthermore, a Bodhisattva householder, living at home, should always be skilled in dedicating without interruption, if

Even though the scriptures remain after the Teacher's passing, there is no arising of Buddhas, no teachers of the Dharma, and no encounters with the noble Sangha. If this is the case, then one should prostrate to all the Buddhas of the ten directions, act in accordance with their past conduct, practice virtue, contemplate, perfect excellent contemplation, and remember and rejoice in those who have attained enlightenment and have fully accomplished all the qualities of Buddhahood. Furthermore, one should, in this way, three times during the day and three times during the night, completely purify the actions of the body, completely purify the actions of speech, completely purify the actions of mind, maintain cleanliness, possess pure thoughts, be skilled in cultivating loving-kindness, wear clean clothes, know shame and be conscientious, adorn oneself with good deeds, accumulate the collection of merit and roots of virtue, be beautiful, greatly rejoice in the mind of enlightenment, be steadfast, be happy in association, perform actions that should be done, be respectful, have a joyful mind, and by completely cutting off pride, arrogance, and conceit, confess all the faults of unwholesome actions, and restrain oneself in the future, rejoice in all merits, perfectly accumulate merit, and supplicate all the Buddhas to turn the wheel of Dharma, uphold all the teachings, and for the sake of completely protecting life in immeasurable Buddha-fields, one should make the categories of the Three Heaps Sutra one's mantra. Other householders, bodhisattva householders living at home, should also take the eight-limbed upavāsa vows. One should attend to, rely on, and honor those śrāmaṇas and brahmins who possess morality, qualities, and virtuous Dharma. Attending to, relying on, and honoring them, without erring in conduct, one should see one's own faults. Even if one sees a monk who has declined from the conduct of a śrāmaṇa, one should not have even a slight sense of disrespect. Just as the robes of the Bhagavan, the Tathagata, the Arhat, the Perfectly Awakened One, the stainless one, the one free from all defilements, are morality.
