Thus, all dharmas are emptiness, which is the door to liberation, emptiness itself. That which is empty with the characteristic of emptiness is the door to liberation with characteristics. Where there is no characteristic, there is no aspiration; this is the door to liberation without aspiration. Great King, thus all dharmas are the door to liberation, inclining towards nirvana, perfectly gathering in emptiness, being certain in the realm of dharma, and reaching the limit of the realm of space. Great King, for example, a person dreams in a sleeping dream that his own tongue faculty is damaged. When he wakes up from sleep and remembers that his tongue faculty has been damaged, what do you think, Great King? Does the damaged tongue faculty seen in the dream exist? He replied: Blessed One, it does not exist. The Blessed One said: Great King, what do you think? If someone is attached to the damage of the tongue faculty in a dream, is that person of wise nature? He replied: Blessed One, that is not so. Why is that? Blessed One, the tongue faculty itself seen in the dream does not exist and is not visible, so how could its damage exist? Otherwise, the person who is attached to it will be poor and exhausted. The Blessed One said: Great King, similarly, ignorant ordinary people who are not endowed with learning are also attached to those who turn to equanimity when they taste flavors with their tongues. After being attached, they become extremely foolish. After being extremely foolish, they perform actions arising from ignorance: the body performs three kinds, the speech performs four kinds, and the mind performs three kinds. The actions that have been performed are exhausted, ceased, separated, and transformed from the very beginning. They do not exist relying on the east, and they are not here, not there, and not in the intermediate state. When another time, the time of death is near, the life faculty ceases, life is completely exhausted, and the actions of the same fate are also exhausted. When the last consciousness ceases, it is like the damage of the tongue faculty when waking up from sleep.

will become the target. Great King, for him, the power of the last consciousness and the object of karma, and the first arising of consciousness belonging to birth by two causes, when that first consciousness ceases, without interruption, the manifest mind stream that experiences the ripening, like a share, arises. Among them, the cessation of the last consciousness becomes the number called death. The arising of the first consciousness becomes the number called birth. Great King, in this way, no dharma transfers from this world to another world, but death and birth are manifest. Great King, from the last consciousness to the first consciousness, at the time of birth, it does not come from anywhere; at the time of cessation, it does not go anywhere. Why is that? Because it is empty by nature. The last consciousness is empty of the last consciousness, up to samsara being empty of the nature of samsara. Actions are not wasted, and the experience of ripening is manifest. Among them, there is no agent or ender other than mere conventional designation. Great King, for example, a person in a dream while sleeping, dreams of embracing a beautiful woman, and having experienced the touch, wakes up and remembers that beautiful woman. Great King, what do you think? Do the beautiful woman and the touch seen in the dream exist? Response: Blessed One, that does not exist. The Buddha said: Great King, what do you think? Then, is the beautiful woman and the touch seen in the dream manifestly of an expert nature? Response: Blessed One, no. Why is that? Blessed One, the beautiful woman in the dream itself does not exist and is not visible, let alone the touch with her? The Blessed One said: Great King, similarly, ordinary beings who do not have learning, when the body touches objects of touch, they become attached to those that are pleasant, and because of that attachment, they become attached, and because of attachment,
