Great King, you should train in such a way that for all formations, there is nowhere to go and nowhere to come from. Great King, for that which goes nowhere and comes from nowhere, there is no dharma that goes or comes. For that which has no coming and no going, there is no birth and no cessation. For that which does not arise and does not cease, there is no knowing. Not knowing is also the same as not knowing how one does not know. Why is that? Because one does not know any dharma that definitely arises or definitely does not arise. When one does not know any dharma that definitely arises or definitely does not arise, at that time one is called wise. Then, King Ajatashatru said this to the Blessed One: Blessed One, how wonderful are the well-spoken words of the Tathagata, the Arhat, the Perfectly Awakened One! Blessed One, if I were to die at this very moment, I would not be reborn. Then, the Blessed One truly taught the Dharma to King Ajatashatru, caused him to truly believe, truly praised, and truly rejoiced, and then arose from his seat and departed, and in the afternoon, he would still gather to receive the gift of Dharma. Then, the Blessed One abandoned the practice of gleaning food after the meal, put down his bowl and Dharma robes, washed his feet, and went to his dwelling place to enter into meditation. Then, the Blessed One, in the afternoon, arose from meditation and went to Mount Gṛdhrakūṭa (Vulture Peak Mountain), and having arrived, in order to truly teach the Dharma, the Blessed One sat on the prepared seat. The Venerable Śāriputra and other great Śrāvakas also arose from meditation in the same way, and went to Mount Gṛdhrakūṭa and to where the Blessed One was, and having arrived, they bowed their heads at the feet of the Blessed One, circumambulated him three times, and then sat on one side. Mañjuśrīkumārabhūta (Mañjuśrī, the Youthful One) also arose from meditation, and all forty-two thousand sons of the gods were completely surrounded, all of whom had truly entered the Great Vehicle.

Having swept and cleaned, they went together to where the Blessed One was. Having arrived, they bowed their heads at the feet of the Blessed One and sat down on one side. The Bodhisattva Mahasattva Maitreya, surrounded by about a thousand Bodhisattvas, having swept and cleaned, went together to where the Blessed One was. Having arrived, they bowed their heads at the feet of the Blessed One and sat down on one side. The Bodhisattva Mahasattva Lion's Forcefully Proclaimed Sound, surrounded by about five hundred Bodhisattvas, having swept and cleaned, went together to where the Blessed One was. Having arrived, they bowed their heads at the feet of the Blessed One and sat down on one side. King Ajatashatru, surrounded by a fourfold army, having swept and cleaned, went together to where Mount Vulture Peak and the Blessed One were. Having arrived, they bowed their heads at the feet of the Blessed One and sat down on one side. From the great city of Rajagriha, countless billions of beings also went to where Mount Vulture Peak and the Blessed One were. Having arrived, they bowed their heads at the feet of the Blessed One and sat down on one side. Then, by the power of the Buddha, the venerable Shariputra rose from his seat, arranged his upper robe over one shoulder, knelt on his right knee, and, with his palms joined together, bowed towards where the Blessed One was. He said to the Blessed One: "Blessed One, in the great city of Rajagriha, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva Subjugator of Sins, having begun to inquire about the qualities and arrangements of the Buddhafields of the Bodhisattva Mahasattvas, if the Blessed One would briefly speak about the answer to that, then, Blessed One, I also, having begun to inquire about how the Bodhisattva Mahasattvas should act in order to fully accomplish the qualities and arrangements of the Buddhafields of the Bodhisattva Mahasattvas, how does the Bodhisattva Mahasattva act so as not to regress from unsurpassed, perfect and complete enlightenment?"

Having manifested, in each of the ten directions, countless billions of rays of light were emitted, and each ray of light pervaded countless billions of Buddha-fields, and in those Buddha-fields, the light of the sun and moon was not visible, and they were overwhelmed by the power of those rays of light, and could not be seen by the eye, and the light of the gods was also not visible, and the light of nagas, yakshas, jewels, lightning, fire, the forms of stars, and the light of any other beings were not visible.
