Following observation is also the same. Kashyapa, after that, one dwells contemplating the arising nature as the body, and dwells contemplating the cessation nature as the body. Furthermore, contemplating the arising and cessation of the two natures of the body, one dwells, and by truly remembering this very body, sometimes one is only endowed with knowledge, sometimes one is only endowed with sight, sometimes one is only endowed with mindfulness, and dwells without support, thereby fully knowing that there is nothing to be taken in this world. Thus, Kashyapa, this monk is called one who dwells contemplating the body in his own inner body. The observation of the external body, and the observation of both the inner and outer body are also the same. Thereafter, one dwells contemplating the inner feeling, the outer feeling, and the feeling of both inner and outer; one dwells contemplating the inner mind, the outer mind, and the mind of both inner and outer; one dwells contemplating the inner dharma, the outer dharma, and the dharma of both inner and outer, and by diligently focusing mindfulness, one obtains true knowledge, and does not attend to as much anger as there is in the world, becomes extremely gentle, dwells contemplating the arising nature, and also dwells contemplating the cessation nature. Furthermore, one dwells contemplating the two natures of arising and cessation as dharma, and by truly remembering this very body, sometimes one is only endowed with knowledge, sometimes one is only endowed with sight, sometimes one is only endowed with mindfulness, thereby fully knowing that there is nothing to be taken in this world. Thus, Kashyapa, this monk is called one who has become an island to himself, who has become a place and refuge to himself, who has become a dharma island, and who has become a dharma place and refuge, and there is no other island besides that, and there is no other place and refuge besides that. Kashyapa, if there is any man who is extremely upright in nature and has abandoned deceit, who comes to my presence in the morning

Therefore, Kashyapa, I have truly taught the virtuous Dharma, and in the afternoon, I become qualified to attain (the virtuous Dharma). In the afternoon, I say that teaching the Dharma also qualifies one to attain (the virtuous Dharma). Kashyapa, the Dharma that I have well-spoken is that which is directly realized through seeing, that which completely eliminates suffering, that which is extremely suitable for the time and faculties, that which possesses skillful means, and that which protects the Dharma of knowledge by oneself. Therefore, whoever hears the Dharma taught directly by me will be in accordance with Nirvana and will strive for Bodhi. This is my wisdom. Therefore, today you should see such benefits as benefiting oneself, benefiting others, and benefiting both, and always correctly praise this Dharma. Diligently practice the Dharma of renunciation, do not waste time, obtain the excellent unconditioned bliss, and receive the Dharma robes, food, bedding, medicine, etc., given by others, so that the benefactors may obtain great benefits of merit and excellent, vast, and extensive results of maturation. Kashyapa, you should learn in this way. Furthermore, Kashyapa, there is no form that is worth clinging to, nor is there anything that will not change and be destroyed in the future, because there is no such place. Nor is there anything that will not generate sorrow, lamentation, and affliction, because there is no such place. Kashyapa, what do you think? Is form permanent? Or is it impermanent? Venerable one, it is by nature impermanent. Kashyapa, if it is by nature impermanent, then is it happiness? Or is it suffering? Venerable one, it is suffering. Whatever is impermanent and suffering is of the nature of change and destruction. Then, would my noble disciples who have heard much consider this form to be "I," or "I possess form," or "form is mine," or "I exist in form"? World-Honored One, no.

No, Venerable Sir. What do you think? Are these feelings, perceptions, volitions, and consciousness permanent or impermanent? Venerable Sir, all are by nature impermanent. Kasyapa, if they are by nature impermanent, are they pleasant or painful? Venerable Sir, they are painful. That which is impermanent and painful is subject to change and destruction. Do my noble disciples, who are learned and have heard much, regard these feelings, etc., as 'I'? Do they possess feelings, etc.? Are feelings, etc., 'mine'? Do 'I' exist in feelings, etc.? No, Blessed One. Therefore, whatever form there is, whether past, future, or present, internal or external, gross or subtle, good or bad, far or near, all form is not 'I,' nor do I possess form, nor is form 'mine,' nor do I exist in form. This should be understood. Similarly, with right mindfulness and right wisdom, whatever feeling, perception, volition, and consciousness there is, whether past, future, or present, internal or external, gross or subtle, good or bad, far or near, all of them are not 'I,' nor do I possess them, nor are they 'mine,' nor do I exist in them. This should be well and separately examined. Similarly, with right mindfulness and right wisdom, my noble disciples, who are learned and have heard much, having separately examined form in this way, will generate revulsion. Furthermore, having separately examined feeling, perception, volition, and consciousness, they will also generate revulsion. If they generate revulsion, they will not cling. Without clinging, they will attain liberation. Having been liberated, they will know, 'I am liberated,' and say, 'My birth is exhausted, the holy life
