O Bhagavan, by more than the sands of the Ganges River, O Brahmin youth, in the future, in immeasurable kalpas, you will become a Tathagata, an Arhat, a perfectly complete Buddha, named Shakyamuni. I saw such a prophecy. Shariputra, in this way, the Brahmin youth Cloud, having heard the prophecy, was filled with joy and descended from the sky, and in the presence of the Blessed One, the Tathagata Dipamkara, with faith, he renounced his home and went forth into homelessness, practicing the pure conduct. Shariputra, if you think that the Brahmin youth Cloud at that time was someone else, do not doubt it, do not hesitate. Why? Because, I was the Brahmin youth Cloud at that time. I offered five utpala flowers to the Blessed One, the Tathagata Dipamkara, and also spread my hair on the ground. Shariputra, in this way, those who wish to quickly receive the prophecy of a Bodhisattva should listen very carefully to the categories of Dharma in the Bodhisattva's collection. They should take them up, hold them, and also speak of them to others. They should also extensively and correctly explain them. They should diligently practice this conduct of non-characteristics. Why? Shariputra, I know with clairvoyance that in the past, before Dipamkara, there was no practice of white Dharma that I did not practice. However, the Buddhas, the Blessed Ones, did not prophesy. Why? Because, at that time, I practiced with characteristics. When I practice this category of Dharma in the Bodhisattva's collection without characteristics, without objects, and abide by it as I have heard, then the Tathagata Dipamkara prophesied to me: 'O Brahmin youth, in the future, you will become a Tathagata, an Arhat, a perfectly complete Buddha, named Shakyamuni.' Shariputra, in this way, I saw the Tathagata, the Arhat, the perfectly complete Buddha Dipamkara,

As soon as he saw Dipamkara Buddha, he transcended all actions and comprehended that all dharmas are of equal nature. As soon as he saw, he knew that all dharmas are unborn by nature. Then, the Blessed One, the Tathagata Dipamkara, prophesied to the Brahmin youth: 'In the future, after immeasurable kalpas, you will become a Tathagata, Arhat, Perfectly Enlightened Buddha, named Shakyamuni.' Thus he prophesied. Immediately after the prophecy, he obtained the supreme forbearance of the Dharma of Fire-birth. What is this supreme forbearance? It is obtaining the supreme forbearance of the non-finding of form, and obtaining the supreme forbearance of the non-finding of feeling, perception, formation, and consciousness, and obtaining the supreme forbearance of the non-finding of all the dharmas of the aggregates, elements, and sources. Again, the so-called obtaining supreme forbearance is a euphemism for obtaining the Dharma of no forbearance. Why is that? Because in that Dharma of obtaining supreme forbearance, all worldly dharmas do not arise. It is not the dharma of ordinary beings, not the dharma of learners, not the dharma of non-learners, not the dharma of Bodhisattvas, and even the dharmas of Buddhas do not arise. Because all dharmas do not arise, therefore it is called obtaining supreme forbearance. Because all dharmas are unobtainable and invisible, therefore it is called obtaining supreme forbearance. That forbearance is also momentary with all characteristics and all objects, therefore it is called obtaining supreme forbearance. For that, there is no eye. There is no mention of the eye. Apply as above. There is no ear, no nose, no tongue, no body, no mind, and no mention of the mind. The unbearable realm is forbearance, the realm of no going is forbearance, therefore it is called obtaining supreme forbearance. Shariputra, therefore, those who wish to quickly obtain the prophecy of a Bodhisattva should listen, accept, grasp, and fully understand this Dharma category of the Bodhisattva's Pitaka, which is acting without characteristics, acting spontaneously, and acting without objects.

These should also be spoken of. They should be extensively and correctly fully shown. They should be diligently practiced. Moreover, at that time, in that very assembly, a merchant's son named Misbyin, who was gathered and sitting there, having heard from the Blessed One the categories of the Dharma of the Bodhisattva Pitaka, as well as the qualities of the Buddha and the qualities of the Bodhisattvas, arose from his seat, draped his upper garment over one shoulder, knelt on his right knee, and with his palms joined together, bowed in the direction of the Blessed One, and said this to the Blessed One: "Blessed One, the abiding 'Non-Returning One' has caused me to attain the state of a householder Arhat, and has thus guided me, saying, 'This is the end of old age and death.' Although he has taught me accordingly, having heard from the Blessed One these categories of the Dharma of the Bodhisattva Pitaka, as well as the qualities of the Buddha and the qualities of the Bodhisattvas, I think to myself: 'This unsurpassed, perfectly complete enlightenment of the Great Vehicle is supreme, foremost, sacred, most excellent, extraordinary, and unsurpassed.' I also wish to generate from the Blessed One that which is the most excellent of the fully distinguished Dharmas. Having heard and seen this directly, I think to myself: 'With these fully distinguished Dharmas that have not been received, not possessed, and not fully grasped, I will truly practice and enter into that Dharma which is supreme, foremost, most excellent, extraordinary, and unsurpassed.' Blessed One, I think to myself: 'Among all vehicles, the Buddha's vehicle is the unsurpassed one. The Tathagata's vehicle is spoken of as the most excellent of all vehicles, up to the unsurpassed.' Blessed One, for the benefit of many beings, for the happiness of many beings, for the love of the world, for the great assembly of beings, and for the sake of the benefit, welfare, and happiness of gods and humans, I will henceforth generate the mind of unsurpassed, perfectly complete enlightenment. I also wish to learn how to learn the precepts of a Bodhisattva.' Having thus spoken, the Blessed One
