Non-existence, lifelessness, non-person, and the consciousness that sees the aggregates as illusory aggregates. The consciousness that sees the realms as the realm of Dharma. The consciousness that sees the sense bases as empty villages. The consciousness that sees the eye as a gap and separately distinguished. The consciousness that sees dependent origination as non-contradictory. The consciousness that sees as separated from sentient beings. The consciousness that sees the ripening of causes and effects. The consciousness that sees the manifestation of attaining the fruit. The consciousness that sees entering into reality as entering. Furthermore, what is Vipassanā? It is seeing the dharmas as they are, seeing the suchness of the dharmas, seeing the non-difference of the dharmas, seeing the emptiness of the dharmas, seeing the absence of signs, and seeing the absence of aspirations. Furthermore, what is Vipassanā? It is not seeing the absence of cause, not seeing the cause of arising, ceasing, and abiding. One does not see with the cause of an object, and although one sees excellently, one does not see a slight excellence. Moreover, Vipassanā is seeing even with seeing, but also not seeing observation. When one sees in this way, at that time it is seeing as it is. If one sees as it is, then one also attains the skill of Vipassanā. In this, the Vipassanā of the Bodhisattva sees in this way, and also does not fall into manifest engagement, and also does not abide in manifest engagement with the root of virtue. This is the Vipassanā of the Bodhisattva. Thus, the Śamatha and Vipassanā skills of the Bodhisattva practice the Perfection of Wisdom. Furthermore, being skilled in the path means the four paths of the Bodhisattvas. What are the four? They are as follows: In order to prevent unarisen sinful and unwholesome dharmas from arising, one generates desire, exerts effort, initiates diligence, well-maintains the mind, and properly establishes it. In order to abandon arisen sinful and unwholesome dharmas, one generates desire, exerts effort, initiates diligence, well-maintains the mind, and properly establishes it. In order to generate unarisen wholesome dharmas, one generates desire.

Make effort. Initiate diligence. Completely hold the mind. Completely abide, and for the sake of the deeds of the arisen virtuous dharmas remaining, increasing, not declining, and not being wasted, generate desire. Make effort. Initiate diligence. Completely hold the mind. Completely abide. Whatever is said to generate desire in order not to generate unarisen sinful and unwholesome dharmas is a superior term for proper attention. 'Make effort. Initiate diligence' is called not abandoning proper attention. 'Completely hold the mind. Completely abide' is called a superior term for individually examining proper attention. Why is that? Because completely joining with proper attention is for the sake of unwholesome dharmas not arising. What are the unwholesome dharmas? For example, the opposite of morality, the opposite of samadhi, and the opposite of wisdom. What is the opposite of morality? For example, the destruction of morality, and the dharmas that cause others to destroy morality, that is known as the opposite of morality. What is the opposite of samadhi? Whatever ritual is destroyed, and whatever dharma causes the minds of others to be distracted, the opposite of the aggregate of samadhi, that is known as the opposite of samadhi. What is the opposite of wisdom? For example, the destruction of views, and whatever dharma obstructs the arising of views in others, whatever is the opposite of the aggregate of wisdom, that is known as the opposite of wisdom. That is known as sinful and unwholesome dharmas. With proper attention, in order to abandon such sinful and unwholesome dharmas, generate desire. Make effort. Initiate diligence. Completely hold the mind. Completely abide. Therefore, those unwholesome dharmas are not aggregates in the mind, do not abide in a place, and do not abide in a direction. In any case, those unwholesome dharmas, with the aspect of suffering flowing in the mind, with the aspect of desire, or with the aspect of anger, hatred.

English
Is ignorance a form of delusion? Knowing from what causes and obscurations it arises, and properly directing the mind towards it, one pacifies desire with the aspect of impurity. One pacifies hatred with love. One pacifies delusion with dependent origination. Therefore, the pacification of all those afflictions is called abandonment in name only. Abandonment is that which cannot be found. Because all is manifestly seen by equality, therefore it is called true abandonment. This is the second true abandonment. In order to generate those virtuous dharmas that have not yet arisen, one generates desire, makes effort, exerts diligence, holds the mind, and properly establishes it. This is called immeasurable abiding. Why is that? Because the virtuous dharmas that a Bodhisattva Mahasattva should truly accomplish are immeasurable. Among these, desire is the root of all virtuous roots. Truly accomplishing diligence is the root of all virtuous roots. Practicing holding the mind is the root of all virtuous roots. This is the third true abandonment. In order to maintain those virtuous dharmas that have arisen, so that they do not decline and are not exhausted, one generates desire, makes effort, exerts diligence, holds the mind, and properly establishes it. This is called the supreme word of dedicating virtuous roots to enlightenment. Why is that? Because dedicating virtuous roots to enlightenment will ultimately not be exhausted again until the essence of enlightenment. Why is that? Because in this way, one generates the mind without abiding in the three realms. The virtuous roots that abide in the three realms will be exhausted. Why is that? Because generating the mind in this way abides in the three realms. Whatever virtuous roots do not abide in the three realms, dedicated to omniscience, there is no exhaustion whatsoever. This is the fourth true abandonment. Thus, a Bodhisattva, skilled in the four branches of the path, practices the Perfection of Wisdom. Furthermore, being skilled in the path is the fifth branch of the Bodhisattva's path. What are the five? They are: the power of faith and diligence.
