Knowing that arising does not manifest, knowing that cessation is without characteristics, knowing that the path is for liberation, knowing that the Dharma is extremely diverse in words, knowing that the faculties are for entering, knowing that the powers are without timidity, knowing that calm abiding is a dwelling place, knowing that insight is an appearance, knowing that illusion is an accomplishment, knowing that mirage is a delusion, knowing that dreams are seeing untruth, knowing that echoes are entering into conditions, knowing that eye dizziness is a transformation, knowing that various characteristics are one characteristic, knowing that assembly is separation, knowing that thorough habituation is without further combination, knowing that the Hearer Vehicle is entering by following sound, knowing that the Solitary Buddha Vehicle is entering dependence, and supremely knowing solitude. Knowing that the Great Vehicle is knowing all accumulations of the roots of virtue, this is called the Bodhisattva's individual correct knowledge of meaning. Furthermore, individual correct knowledge of meaning is relying on meaning, following the very nature of all Dharmas, relying on the meaning of all. Why is that? Because all Dharmas without exception are empty, and what is the meaning of emptiness? That is meaning. All Dharmas without exception are without characteristics, and what is the meaning of without characteristics? That is meaning. All Dharmas without exception are without aspiration, and what is the meaning of without aspiration? That is meaning. All Dharmas without exception are differentiated, and what is the meaning of differentiation? That is meaning. All Dharmas without exception are without sentient beings, without life, without persons, and what is the meaning of without persons? That is meaning. If one realizes such Dharmas, it is called individual correct knowledge of meaning, meaning that whatever shows meaning shows no place. It shows the inexhaustible. Individual correct knowledge is showing the meaning of realization, permitted by the Buddhas, the Bhagavat, rejoiced in, truly, it is that, not other, extremely realized by wisdom, all without fault, this is called the Bodhisattva's individual correct knowledge of meaning. In this, individual correct knowledge of Dharma,

What is it? That is, knowing what is virtuous, what is non-virtuous, what is with transgression, what is without transgression, what is with outflows, what is without outflows, what is worldly, what is beyond worldly, what is conditioned, what is unconditioned, what is all-pervasively afflicted, what is in accordance with the aspect of purification, and knowing the ways in which beings engage with the dharmas that lead to samsara and those that lead to nirvana; knowing the equality of the realm of dharma, knowing the equality of enlightenment, and knowing the equality of the elements. This is what is called "knowing each dharma as it is." Furthermore, knowing each dharma as it is means knowing how sentient beings engage in actions of desire, as well as artificial actions of desire, steadfast actions of desire, subtle actions of desire, unsatisfying actions of desire, actions of desire that ultimately always cease, and actions of desire that arise from present conditions. Which sentient beings have desire internally but not externally, have desire externally but not internally, have no desire internally, have no desire externally, have desire both internally and externally, have desire for form but not for sound, have desire for sound but not for form, have desire for both form and sound, have no desire for either form or sound, have no desire for smell, have desire for smell but not for touch, have desire for touch but not for taste, have desire for taste but not for form, have no desire. These are the ways in which actions of desire are engaged. In this way of engaging, there are twenty-one thousand actions of desire, twenty-one thousand actions of hatred, twenty-one thousand actions of delusion, and twenty-one thousand actions of equanimity. Knowing how the mind engages in all these one million and four thousand actions, knowing how to show what is reasonable, knowing how to show neither too much nor too little, knowing how to completely transcend desire, knowing the differences in vessels, and knowing how to show that there is a result. This is what is called "knowing each dharma as it is."
