Is skilled in the birth of a Bodhisattva. Thus, being skilled in the birth of a Bodhisattva, one practices the Perfection of Wisdom. What is it to be skilled in the truth of a Bodhisattva? There are four ways to be skilled in entering the truth of a Bodhisattva, namely: knowing suffering, knowing the origin, knowing cessation, and knowing the path. What is knowing suffering? Knowing that the aggregates do not arise, that is called knowing suffering. What is knowing the origin? Knowing the destruction of craving, that is called knowing the origin. What is knowing cessation? Knowing that it does not arise and is not feared, that is called knowing cessation. What is knowing the path? That which is added to the dharmas that have attained equality, that is called knowing the path. When a Bodhisattva knows the four truths in this way with wisdom, but does not manifest them in order to fully ripen sentient beings, that is called being skilled in the truth. Furthermore, there are three kinds of skill in truth, namely: conventional truth, ultimate truth, and characteristic truth. What is conventional truth? It is all the worldly terms, letters, sounds, and indications, which is called conventional truth. What is ultimate truth? What is ultimate truth? If there is no movement of the mind, what need is there to mention letters? That is called ultimate truth. What is the truth of characteristics? It is like this: all characteristics are one characteristic, and one characteristic is no characteristic. Therefore, the Bodhisattva is not tired of explaining the conventional truth. The ultimate

The characteristic of suffering is called suffering. Understanding the characteristic of emptiness in the nature of suffering is called the Noble Truth of Suffering. The latent cause of the five aggregates and the view arising from craving is the Truth of Origin. Not adding, subtracting, or being arrogant towards the cause of craving, which is the view, is called the Noble Truth of Origin. The cessation due to the complete exhaustion of the five aggregates, not arising in the past extreme, not moving to the future extreme, and not abiding in the present, is called the Noble Truth of Cessation. Relying on the path, knowing suffering, knowing origin, and knowing cessation, and also being able to attain and acquire subsequent realization, is called the Noble Truth of the Path that leads to the Cessation of Suffering. Understanding the truth and being able to discriminate between beings that are distinguished and observed is called a Bodhisattva being skilled in the truth. Furthermore, all feelings are suffering. Discriminating what is to be felt and understanding with wisdom is the Noble Truth of Suffering. Knowing the cause by which the origin is known, and fully understanding it as it is, is the Noble Truth of Origin. Abandoning feeling and feeling non-feeling, and also individually understanding cessation, but not manifesting the cessation of feeling, is the Bodhisattva's Truth of the Cessation of Suffering. By what feeling does one gather the path that is like a raft, but neither feeling nor the path is needed, is the Bodhisattva's Noble Truth of the Path that leads to the Cessation of Suffering. Having understood in this way, seeing equally the truth as it is, and the seeing not being extremely pure, is the Bodhisattva being skilled in the truth. Furthermore, birth is suffering. Knowing individually that which is not born is called knowing suffering. Birth arises from the condition of existence. Knowing the destruction of existence is called knowing the origin. By what is it known that all births do not arise, and there is no cessation in this

And knowing what does not hinder, that is called the knowledge of ceasing hindrances. If one seeks, measures, completely seeks, distinguishes, and enters into knowledge in that way, that is called the knowledge of the path. If one helps the knowledge of truth but does not abide in the knowledge of truth, that is a Bodhisattva who is skilled in truth. Thus, a Bodhisattva who is skilled in truth practices the Perfection of Wisdom. What is the Bodhisattva's skill in individually and correctly knowing? These four are the Bodhisattva's individual and correct knowledge. What are the four? Namely: individually and correctly knowing the meaning, individually and correctly knowing the Dharma, individually and correctly knowing the definitive words, and individually and correctly knowing fearlessness. What is individually and correctly knowing the meaning? It is knowing that all dharmas are words of ultimate truth, knowing the non-dual cause, knowing the condition, knowing the assembly, knowing the infinite following, knowing entering by relying, knowing the indivisibility of the Dharma realm, knowing the following of suchness, knowing not abiding in the right side, knowing following the realization of emptiness, knowing the signless intention, knowing without aspiration in the absence of aspiration, knowing non-manifestation in the absence of manifestation, knowing entering in one way, knowing entering without sentient beings, knowing entering without self, knowing the lifeless as one, knowing the absence of a person as ultimate, knowing not being attached to the past time, knowing the future time as infinite, knowing the present time as all-pervading, knowing the aggregates as illusions, knowing the elements as similar to poisonous snakes, knowing that the sense bases are definitely understood as emptiness, knowing inner peace, knowing not wandering outward, knowing the object as without object, knowing memory as a dwelling place, knowing realization as understanding, knowing wisdom as manifest, knowing truth as thorough understanding, and knowing suffering as non-arising.
