A mind with hatred, he also truly knows as a mind with hatred. A mind without hatred, he also truly knows as a mind without hatred. A mind with delusion, he also truly knows as a mind with delusion. A mind without delusion, he also truly knows as a mind without delusion. Shariputra, like this, all the various afflictions, all the various beings whose minds are obscured, he truly knows all of those as they are. Having known, in order to liberate from afflictions, he teaches the Dharma in that way. Wherever he goes into any assembly, he first observes all of those assemblies himself. Having observed, for beings, in whatever way is suitable, he teaches the Dharma in that way. Shariputra, like this, all that he knows about the faculties of those beings, whether they are superior or not, even if he knows all of them, the Bodhisattva does not only care for his own mind, nor does he only care for the minds of others. What is the reason for that? Like this, that Bodhisattva's mind-stream is the awareness of wisdom. The stream of mind is the awareness of mindfulness. It is the awareness of intelligence. The stream of mind is the awareness of realization. The stream of beings is the awareness of prajna. The stream of mind is the awareness of intellect. The stream of mind is without afflictions, the boundaries of habits are completely equipped, pure, without stains, luminous, without faults, not rough, without turbidity, aware of the appearance of all dharmas. Aware of following the conduct of all beings. Shariputra, like this, for this kind of Dharma, the entry of the mind's knowledge, this is called the Bodhisattva's understanding of the minds of others, and the complete perfection of the work of wisdom. Shariputra, for this, what is the Bodhisattva's direct realization of the superknowledge of remembering past lives? What is it that perfects the work of the superknowledge of wisdom? Shariputra, here, the Bodhisattva is all the limitless realms of the ten directions

In all of them, one life of all sentient beings, two lives, three lives, four lives, five lives, ten lives, twenty lives, thirty lives, forty lives, fifty lives, eighty lives, one thousand lives, one hundred thousand lives, countless hundreds of lives, countless thousands of lives, countless hundreds of thousands of lives, kalpas of destruction, kalpas of formation, destruction and formation kalpas, countless kalpas of destruction, countless kalpas of formation, countless kalpas of destruction and formation. This sentient being was once someone named so-and-so. The name was this, the surname was this, the lineage was this, the color was like this, the appearance was like this, the shape was like this, eating such food, residing for such a long time, experiencing such happiness and suffering, then dying and being reborn in such-and-such a place, then dying and being reborn here. Thus, one remembers various past abodes. Therefore, I and all sentient beings remember all the past abodes, along with all places and directions. From the beginning of those past lives, one remembers various past abodes. From the beginning of the past lives of other sentient beings and individuals, one remembers various past abodes. One also remembers that one's own root of virtue arose from past causes. One also remembers the causes of the roots of virtue of others. One also dedicates one's own root of virtue to enlightenment. Having remembered the roots of virtue of other sentient beings, one generates the mind of enlightenment. Whatever the cause of past happiness and suffering, it relies on impermanence, suffering, emptiness, and selflessness. Because it relies on impermanence, suffering, emptiness, and selflessness, one is not arrogant because of appearance, not arrogant because of possessions, not arrogant because of servants, not arrogant because of power, not arrogant because of wanting to be a universal monarch, not arrogant because of wanting to be Indra, not arrogant because of wanting to be Brahma.

It is not. Not arrogant because of wanting to travel in the world, not arrogant because of wanting to possess all life. Not a wise person who desires desires, the rule of kings, and the happiness of power, but deliberately takes hold of power in order to fully mature other sentient beings. He relies on impermanence, suffering, emptiness, and selflessness, and feels ashamed, embarrassed, and condemns previous afflictive actions. Even for the sake of survival, he will not now do actions that lead to the root of non-virtue. He completely dedicates and increases the previous roots of virtue to the unsurpassed, perfectly complete enlightenment. For the present roots of virtue, in order to encompass everything, he completely abandons incompatible dedications, and in order to make the lineage of the Buddha, the lineage of the Dharma, and the lineage of the Sangha never cease, with the power of correctly generating mindfulness, he dedicates everything to omniscience. His mindfulness is also greatly blessed by the blessing of the Dharmadhatu, unshakable with great reason, unconsidered through completely practicing meditation, harmless through the great blessing of tranquility, unerring through the extremely correct grasp of insight, for the sake of direct perception and not vulgar, for the sake of non-loss of mindfulness, for the sake of no forgetting, through accumulating great merit and accumulating wisdom that does not depend on others, there is great experience. In order to accumulate the accumulations of all perfections, he has gone to the other shore, and now with the power of correct arising, there is no forgetting of the dharmas that have occurred in the past and present, this is the place of the Bodhisattva's previous life, the work of wisdom of manifest knowledge is completely fulfilled. Shariputra, what is the manifest knowledge of knowing the actions of the Bodhisattva's miraculous powers, which are done manifestly? What is the completion of the work of manifest knowledge? Shariputra, here the Bodhisattva meditates on the foot of miraculous power with the samadhi of desire, endowed with the activity of abandoning, and diligence.
