I say: The earth element is not like that, the water element is not like that, the fire element is not like that, the wind element is not like that. The Blessed One declared: Yes, it is just like that. Shariputra, the realm of sentient beings is extremely vast, the earth element is not like that, the water element is not like that, the fire element is not like that, the wind element is not like that. Furthermore, Shariputra, beyond this, those who share the same karma as sentient beings, those that cannot be seen by the divine eye of non-Buddhist hermits, those that cannot be seen by the divine eye of Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas also exist. Shariputra, within the extent of a sesame stalk's wheel, what the Tathagata can see with his divine eye is extremely vast, the gods and humans and other beings of the three-thousand great-thousand world system are not like that, therefore the realm of sentient beings is inconceivable. Shariputra, however many sentient beings there are in the three-thousand great-thousand world system, born from eggs, born from wombs, born from moisture, born miraculously, with form, without form, with perception, without perception, neither with perception nor without perception, visible or invisible, however many are designated as the realm of sentient beings, all of those are completely examined and grasped, in a moment, an instant, a short time, without any sequence, they obtain a human body, and after all of those have become human, they also become doctors, and their lifespan also remains for a kalpa, completely examined and grasped, like a teacher who is skilled in healing, Shariputra, just like the current king of medicine, Jivaka, all of those gather together, striving to completely pacify the suffering of desire of one sentient being, and to completely pacify the suffering of hatred and the suffering of ignorance, and each doctor also collects a pile of cooling medicines as large as Mount Meru, all of those are piled up with cooling medicines in order to completely pacify the suffering of desire of one sentient being, even if they are applied, Shariputra, all the doctors whose lifespan lasts for a kalpa become exhausted, and all those piles of cooling medicines are completely diminished and depleted.

Even so, it is not possible to completely pacify the suffering of desire, the suffering of hatred, and the suffering of ignorance of one sentient being. Thus, the Tathagata, with the medicine of the impure Dharma and the blessing of application, completely pacifies the suffering of desire of many sentient beings, many hundreds of sentient beings, many thousands of sentient beings, many hundreds of thousands of sentient beings, many billions of hundreds of thousands of sentient beings, many billions of entangled sentient beings, many filled sentient beings, up to the unspeakable and again unspeakable sentient beings, with the impure medicine and the blessing of application. With the medicine of loving-kindness Dharma and the blessing of application, the suffering of hatred of many sentient beings is completely pacified. The suffering of hatred of sentient beings between the unspeakable and again unspeakable is completely pacified. With the medicine of dependent origination and the blessing of application, the suffering of ignorance of many sentient beings is completely pacified. The suffering of ignorance of sentient beings between the unspeakable and again unspeakable is completely pacified. The Bodhisattva Mahasattva, having attained the Dharmakaya, also blesses himself to become the medicine of Dharma, thereby completely pacifying the suffering of desire of many sentient beings, pacifying the suffering of hatred, and completely pacifying the suffering of ignorance. The suffering of desire, hatred, and ignorance of sentient beings between the unspeakable and again unspeakable is completely pacified. Therefore, Shariputra, it should also be understood in this way, that the Bodhisattva Mahasattva, abiding in the Dharmakaya, blesses himself to become the medicine of Dharma, thereby completely pacifying the suffering of desire of many sentient beings up to the unspeakable and again unspeakable sentient beings, completely pacifying the suffering of hatred, and completely pacifying the suffering of ignorance. Shariputra, I know with clairvoyance that beyond countless eons, and even far beyond that, a Tathagata named Dipankara appeared in the world, known as the Buddha Bhagavan.
