It is so. Entering is completely seeking calm abiding. Abiding is the mind of calm abiding. Entering is the collection of insight. Abiding is the wisdom of the nature of reality. Entering is the scope being small within. Abiding is the scope being completely known. Entering is hearing the sounds of others. Abiding is diligently practicing the Dharma. Entering is the adornment of the Dharmakaya. Abiding is the Dharmakaya itself. Entering is the cause of purity. Abiding is the silence of the noble ones. Entering is having faith in the three doors of liberation. Abiding is non-action. Entering is completely abandoning the four maras. Abiding is abandoning the afflictions of habitual tendencies. Entering is skillful means. Abiding is observing with wisdom. Entering is observing without taking as an object. Abiding is observing as liberation. Entering is observing with symbols. Abiding is observing with meaning. This is the diligence of the mind that should be known, whoever initiates diligence, effort, and vigor, that is called the bodhisattva's diligence, vigor without regression. Thus, Shariputra, a bodhisattva with diligence and vigor without regression is manifestly superior with five qualities, and unsurpassed, perfect enlightenment will also manifestly and completely awaken to Buddhahood. What are the five qualities by which one is manifestly superior? One is manifestly superior by pleasing the Buddhas who have appeared. One is manifestly superior by relying on virtuous spiritual friends. One is manifestly superior by obtaining leisure and endowments. One is manifestly superior because the virtuous Dharma that is practiced is not wasted. A bodhisattva who abides in vows is manifestly superior by training in the way of the great bodhisattvas, and unsurpassed, perfect enlightenment will also quickly and manifestly awaken to Buddhahood. Then, the venerable Shariputra said to the Blessed One, "Blessed One, is there such a bodhisattva who is manifestly superior with five qualities and does not regress?" The Blessed One replied, "Shariputra, there is." "Blessed One, how is it? How is the Sugata?" He replied, "Shariputra, a bodhisattva who possesses five qualities pleases the Buddhas who appear.
