Generating diligence. Shariputra, furthermore, the bodhisattva's undiminished diligence is: generating diligence for the sake of completely liberating others from suffering. Shariputra, furthermore, the bodhisattva's undiminished diligence is being unrelaxed, steadfast, non-retrogressing, having virtuous thoughts, being completely overwhelmed by great compassion, constantly striving for the benefit of sentient beings, and generating diligence. Furthermore, Shariputra, the bodhisattva's undiminished diligence is that even when lifting and placing footsteps, one does not abandon the mind of enlightenment, manifesting the Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha, observing sentient beings, and not being driven by afflictions. Shariputra, furthermore, the bodhisattva's undiminished diligence is that all virtuous root minds that arise and occur are dedicated to enlightenment. That virtuous root will not be exhausted. Shariputra, just as the water that flows into the great ocean will not be exhausted midway, Shariputra, the virtuous root dedicated to enlightenment will also not be exhausted midway. Therefore, it is called undiminished diligence. Shariputra, furthermore, the bodhisattva who has truly entered into undiminished diligence is one who accumulates those virtuous roots and accumulates the virtuous roots that strive to manifest the aspect of omniscience, therefore it is called undiminished diligence. Shariputra, furthermore, the bodhisattva should train in this way: all the accumulations of merit of sentient beings, and all the accumulations of merit of those who are learning and those who are not learning, and all the accumulations of merit of the solitary buddhas, all those merits can completely accomplish one pore of the Tathagata's body. All that belongs to all the pores, all those accumulations of merit, if uninterrupted offerings are made, can be accomplished. Through a hundred such offerings, one major mark of a great person can be manifested on the body. Entering in this way, all the marks can also be manifested. All marks belong to

Thus, with the accumulation of merit thus generated, the Tathagata's urna hair between the eyebrows is completely accomplished. Furthermore, with the accumulation of merit belonging to the urna hair, with a hundred thousand times that accumulation of merit, the Tathagata's crown jewel, like the invisible great man's mark on the top of the head, is manifestly accomplished. Furthermore, with the accumulation of merit belonging to the crown jewel, with a hundred thousand kotis times that accumulation of merit, the Tathagata's Dharma conch is completely accomplished. If desired, the Tathagata's Dharma conch can make the boundless and limitless world known with its sound, satisfying all sentient beings according to their faculties, faith, understanding, and taming. Thus, having attained unsurpassable perfect enlightenment through hardship, I will certainly not regress, manifest unsurpassable perfect enlightenment, and make it known throughout the boundless and limitless world with the Buddha's voice. Thus striving, not abandoning armor, is the bodhisattva's unflagging diligence. Shariputra, furthermore, the bodhisattva's unflagging diligence is such that if all the sentient beings in the three thousand great thousand worlds possess the wisdom of following with faith, even one percent of those who possess the wisdom of following the Dharma is not approached. A thousandth part, or a hundred thousandth part, or a counted part, or a numbered part, or a metaphorical part is not approached. Apply in sequence as before. Thus, if all the sentient beings in the three thousand great thousand worlds possess the wisdom of entering the stream, or if they possess the wisdom of once returning, or likewise possess the wisdom of not returning, or likewise possess the wisdom of an arhat, or likewise possess the wisdom of a solitary buddha, or likewise possess a bodhisattva born in a hundred kalpas, or likewise possess the wisdom of non-retrogression, or likewise possess a

Bound by one thing. In the vast, boundless, and limitless realms of the world, all those sentient beings who have become endowed with the wisdom of a Bodhisattva bound by one thing, even they cannot approach one-hundredth of the Tathagata's power of knowing what is and is not the place, or one-thousandth, or one hundred-thousandth, or a number, or a part, or a count. Having heard this entry into wisdom, one does not tremble, does not fear, and does not become afraid, and having generated faith in that wisdom, one initiates diligence, even if the skin (Tibetan: པྲི་), sinews (Tibetan: རྒྱུས་པ་), bones (Tibetan: རུས་པ་), hide (Tibetan: ལྤགས་པ་), flesh (Tibetan: ཤ་), blood (Tibetan: ཁྲག་), and the entire body become emaciated. Until the power of the Tathagata is attained, one does not abandon diligence, that is called unretreating diligence. Shariputra, furthermore, a Bodhisattva trains in this way: all the past minds of all sentient beings enter into the one mind of one sentient being, and likewise, the minds of all sentient beings become immeasurable and numerous. All the minds filled with the desire, hatred, delusion, and all the afflictions of all sentient beings enter into the one mind of one sentient being. In this way, even though all sentient beings have such numerous and immeasurable afflictions, I shall seek the wisdom and the accumulation of wisdom for them. I shall strive, I shall exert diligence, and having exerted diligence, all the torment of desire, the torment of hatred, and the torment of delusion of all sentient beings shall be completely pacified, made non-toxic, subdued, liberated, reduced to ashes, and placed on the path of nirvana. Whoever does not retreat from that, that is called a Bodhisattva's unretreating diligence. Shariputra, furthermore, a Bodhisattva's unretreating diligence is when the actions of the body abide in virtue, the actions of speech abide in virtue, the actions of mind abide in virtue, and all the diligence that exists, all of them are endowed with body, speech, and mind.
