If one touches the earth, I am now satisfied. Having obtained a virtuous body, one should live by means of giving and hearing, and without regard for life, treat the teacher with reward and respect. Shariputra, having generated the fifth bodhicitta, the bodhisattva seeks the Dharma categories of the bodhisattva's treasury, and treats the teacher with service and respect, even offering a full bottle of water. Then, the Blessed One spoke these verses at that time: Approaching evil friends, being deceived by evil minds, relying on evil views, I have done evil deeds. On this side of the ocean, however many sentient beings dwell, even if they are satisfied with food and drink, there is no source of merit. On the other side of the ocean, however many sentient beings dwell, even if all are killed and destroyed, there is no source of evil. Such an evil view, if relied upon again and again, the one unbearable and wretched sentient being will long fall into hell. Not having seen the perfect Buddha, the guide of the world, even if my body is empty, I will fall into the three lower realms. This is the goodness of the world, and having heard its sound, I have obtained the rare human life, but it is shaking and changing. I have obtained the appearance of the Buddha, and the teaching of the Victorious One, the all-knowing. The actions of the body and the pure actions, and the actions of the mind are also sinful, and will become an undesirable and immeasurable result, which should not be practiced in the future. With a completely pure mind, with pure body, speech, and mind, practicing extremely difficult practices in the world, one should do good deeds. For the sake of the Buddha's bodhi, one should not transgress the words of the teacher whom I respect, and one should be extremely respectful. The so-called straight path is well indicated by non-deception, and for the sake of the Buddha's bodhi, one should not become illusory. The bodhisattva who possesses skillful means and wisdom, fearless, having generated such a mind, even water as much as a container should be offered. Shariputra, having generated this fifth bodhicitta, the bodhisattva

Furthermore, in order to fully seek the categories of Dharma in the Bodhisattva's treasury, one serves and reveres the preceptor, even offering a full vase of water. Moreover, Shariputra, the Bodhisattva, generates such a thought: 'For a long time, I have been separated from virtuous friends and seized by evil companions, therefore there is no maturation of the karma of bowing, prostrating, speaking respectfully, making obeisance, rising, and joining palms.' Thus, with intervals of faith, being overwhelmed by the power of pride, I have manifestly accumulated many sinful non-virtuous actions. Due to the maturation of those non-virtuous actions, like this, in the human realm, I have obtained a despised body, not being able to closely rely on all objects of offering. Because I have not pleased such objects of offering, when I am born as a human there, I become a miser, a poor person, a slave, someone controlled by others, a being attached to desires, someone clinging to desires, someone abiding in improper conduct. Those with wrong views, those who have improperly entered into discipline, those who have entered into wrong views, those who are extremely abiding in the three roots of non-virtue, those who have entered into the four conducts that should not be practiced, those who are obscured by the five obscurations, those who do not respect the six teachers, those who engage in the seven non-holy dharmas, those who are definitely wrong in the eight wrongnesses, those who are harmed by the objects of nine harms, those who have entered the evil path in the path of the ten non-virtuous actions, those who are manifestly inclined towards the path of sentient hells, those who are not inclined towards the path of heaven, those who are separated from virtuous friends, those who have fallen into the hands of evil companions, those who are controlled by demons, those who have completely abandoned virtuous dharmas, those who act with non-virtuous dharmas, are threatened with sticks, threatened with fear, and unwillingly perform service and reverence. Now, I have pleased them, therefore, by obtaining virtuous actions, I shall closely rely on all objects of offering. Without regard for body and life, I shall serve and revere the preceptor.'
