The so-called "place" is not abiding. Because that consciousness does not abide, it knows the place of mind of all sentient beings. How does it know? The place of mind of sentient beings is fourfold. What are the four? For example: Form is the place of mind. Feeling, perception, and volition are the place of mind of sentient beings. These four are the place of mind of sentient beings. The Tathagata knows that place as also being without a place. Because sentient beings have not comprehended this boundary of no-place, the Tathagata arises with great compassion for sentient beings in order to have them comprehend it. Shariputra, the so-called "Bodhi" is another name for emptiness. By what emptiness is Bodhi? Emptiness is emptiness, and by this all dharmas are empty. How are those emptinesses? Just so, the Tathagata manifests complete enlightenment of all dharmas, but it is not by emptiness that emptiness is manifested as complete enlightenment, so is it emptiness? The so-called "Bodhi" is wisdom of one nature. Among them, by what two is emptiness and Bodhi divided into two? There is no two. That dharma is non-dual and indivisible, without name, without sign, without entry, without pervasive movement, without conduct. The so-called "empty" is free from manifest attachment and grasping. Because no dharma is perceived in ultimate reality, therefore whatever is emptiness is called empty. Just as space is also called space, but space is not to be spoken of. Similarly, the so-called empty, empty, but emptiness is not to be spoken of. For example, merely establishing a designation, this applies to all dharmas. That name also does not abide in a place, it does not abide in a direction. How does a name not abide in a place, not abide in a direction? Similarly, that dharma which is designated by the name of a dharma also does not abide in a place, it does not abide in a direction. Thus, the Tathagata knows all dharmas. Because from the beginning there has been no arising, no production, therefore it is known as such, thus liberated, there is no bondage, and there is no liberation, so those ordinary beings have not comprehended it, so they must be made to comprehend it.

Should be done, thus the great compassion of the Tathagata arises towards sentient beings. Shariputra, enlightenment is equal to space. Space is neither equal nor unequal. Enlightenment is also neither equal nor unequal. If the dharmas do not have true and complete accomplishment, it cannot be said to be equal or unequal. Therefore, Shariputra, the Tathagata does not consider all dharmas to be equal, nor does he consider them to be unequal, but attains perfect and complete enlightenment. Just as for the dharmas, even a mote of dust is not considered equal, nor is it considered unequal, thus perfect and complete enlightenment is attained. All the dharmas are known by true wisdom. What is true wisdom? It is that dharmas that have not arisen, arise, and after arising, they will perish. These arise without a master and perish without a master. They arise and perish due to conditions, and there is no entering or leaving in this. In order to cut off wrong paths, the Tathagata teaches the Dharma. Because sentient beings have not understood the principle of cutting off wrong paths, in order to make them understand, the great compassion of the Tathagata arises towards sentient beings. Shariputra, enlightenment is the place of suchness. How is enlightenment? Form is also like that, it does not arise from suchness. How is enlightenment? Feeling, perception, volition, and consciousness are also like that, they do not arise from suchness. How is enlightenment? The earth element, water element, fire element, and wind element are also like that, they do not arise from suchness. How is enlightenment? From the eye element, the form element, the eye consciousness element, to the mind element, the dharma element, and the mind consciousness element. The designation of dharmas is limited to this, that is, it is designated on the aggregates, elements, and sense bases. All these the Tathagata has truly attained perfect and complete enlightenment. Because he has attained perfect and complete enlightenment without inversion, therefore, how it was before, so it is later, and so it is in the middle.
