There is a path of bodily training but not of speech, and not of mind. There is a path of speech training but not of body, and not of mind. There is a path of mind training but not of body, and not of speech. There is also a path where the body is not trained, the speech is not trained, and the mind is not used. There is also a path where the body, speech, and mind are used. The Tathagata knows all these as they truly are. Thus, Shariputra, the Tathagata's unobstructed wisdom enters into all the causes of entry and the causes of return of all sentient beings, however many there may be. Thus, Shariputra, the Tathagata's power of knowing all paths is limitless and boundless, equal to and the same as the sky. Having heard this, the Bodhisattva has great faith, believes, fully understands, has no doubts, does not waver, rejoices greatly, finds satisfaction, and because it is inconceivable like the sky, generates a sense of wonder and amazement. Then, in order to extensively explain that meaning, the Blessed One spoke these verses at that time: The Sugata fully knows all paths. He knows the realms of sentient beings along with their causes. He knows the characteristics of complete maturation are uncertain, and likewise the faculties endowed with causes. The path of desire has three aspects, likewise the three paths of hatred and delusion. The three are vast, boundless, and endowed with afflictions. The Teacher knows the conditions and causes of the paths. The difficult path becomes sharp, likewise the faculties become dull and weak. The easy path becomes sharp, likewise the weak is known by the Protector of the World. On the weak path, there is weak conduct. Likewise, it is weak but the training is sharp. On the fast path, it becomes weak, likewise there is also the fast that is without attachment. The path generates individual thoughts, but does not generate true meditation. Meditation arises, and the two are different, possessing union and arising. The path completely trains thought, but the union does not train. Sometimes both train. All those are known by the Buddhas who see. The body is completely trained but not purified, not trained.

Om. And the mind is not subdued, and the speech and the body are well subdued. Sometimes the mind is not subdued. The mind is not well subdued. And the body is not subdued, and the speech and likewise the mind are well subdued. Sometimes the body does not become subdued. The path of subduing the body and likewise the mind, how to reverse and enter and the transformations of entering, etc., are well known by all the Buddhas with all-seeing eyes. This is the sixth power of the Tathagata. Shariputra, this is the sixth power of the Tathagata. Because he possesses that power, the Tathagata roars like a lion, from the face to whoever in the world is in accordance with the Dharma. What is the power of knowledge of the Tathagata's meditation, liberation, samadhi, defilement of absorption, purification, and rising? Shariputra, here the Tathagata knows well his own and others' meditation, liberation, samadhi, defilement of absorption, purification, and rising, just as they are in reality. How does he know well? Whatever is the cause of the defilement of sentient beings, and whatever is the condition, that too is well known by the Tathagata as it really is. Whatever is the cause of the purification of sentient beings, and whatever is the condition, that too is well known by the Tathagata as it really is. What is the cause there? What is the condition? The cause of the defilement of all sentient beings is improper attention. The condition of the defilement of all sentient beings is ignorance. Ignorance is the cause, action is the condition. Action is the cause, consciousness is the condition. Consciousness is the cause, name and form are the condition. Name and form are the cause, the six sense sources are the condition. The six sense sources are the cause, contact is the condition. Contact is the cause, feeling is the condition. Feeling is the cause, craving is the condition. Craving is the cause, grasping is the condition. Grasping is the
