The power of knowing the ripening of the Tathagata's actions is also boundless and limitless. Shariputra, if someone wants to measure the limit of the power of knowing the ripening of the actions of the Tathagata, the Arhat, the Perfectly Complete Buddha, it is like wanting to measure the limit of the sky. When a Bodhisattva hears of the inconceivable power of the Tathagata's knowledge of the ripening of actions, he generates pure faith, generates confidence, fully understands, has no doubts, has no hesitation, is very happy and joyful, obtains satisfaction, and because it is as inconceivable as the sky, he generates a sense of wonder and amazement. In this regard, the Dharma nature is such, and in this regard, it should be said: The Tathagata is skilled in cause and ripening, The one with eyes knows the accomplishment of all actions. For the three times, the Victorious One has no attachment, He fully knows the behavior of all sentient beings. The five realms Of all sentient beings, What becomes the cause of happiness and suffering, And what enters into the cause of suffering, The Tathagata fully knows these. The ripening of black and white actions, And how the cause and ripening change, The Tathagata fully knows these, Like a wish-fulfilling jewel in the palm of his hand. From the cause of small ripening actions, Come forth immeasurable fruits, And what immeasurable things become small causes, The Tathagata fully knows these. The fruit ripens into a Hearer alone, And what becomes the cause of a Pratyekabuddha's enlightenment, And bestows the power of unsurpassed wisdom, The Tathagata fully knows all these. The cause of action that ripens into suffering also ripens into the fruit of happiness, And the cause of action that ripens into happiness, He knows all that is to be done with the fruit of suffering. The cause of suffering causes suffering itself to exist, And the cause of happiness also causes happiness itself to exist, The nature of action is not nature, The Sugata with cause fully knows. Of all sentient beings in the five realms, Whatever suffering is experienced in the three times, What enters, without fail, is just that, not other, The Victorious One fully knows with the wisdom of the Buddha. Shariputra, this is the Suchness of the Tathagatas
