It is fifty yojanas. It is one hundred yojanas long. The roots are made of coral. The trunk is made of beryl. The branches are made of gold. The leaves are made of the essence of stone. The size of the Bodhi seat is also like a water field, one hundred yojanas each. The edge of that seat is surrounded by railings. The best tala trees are arranged in rows. It is covered with golden bells and jewel nets, and is well decorated. That great Bodhi seat is three yojanas high, and very fine and soft cushions are laid on it. It is adorned and purified with hundreds and thousands of excellent garments. Twenty umbrellas, victory banners, and flags are hung on the left and right sides. The Tathagata Moon Lamp King sat on that seat and attained the unsurpassed, perfectly complete enlightenment. At that time, there were no three lower realms in that world, nor were there names for the three lower realms. There were no unfavorable conditions, nor were there names for the unfavorable conditions. The Tathagata Moon Lamp King constantly manifested emanations in all realms and turned the wheel of Dharma. The Tathagata Moon Lamp King of Infinite Wisdom had two Bodhisattvas. One was known as Cloud Sound, and the other was known as Immeasurable Sound. Those two Bodhisattvas requested the Tathagata in this way: "Bhagavan, how can Bodhisattva Mahasattvas obtain skillful means to establish the nature of all dharmas?" After making this request, the Tathagata, in order to enable the Bodhisattva Mahasattvas to obtain skillful means to establish the nature of all dharmas, extensively and correctly taught that Dharma to those two Bodhisattvas. At that time, the Bodhisattva Mahasattvas, having heard that Dharma, obtained skillful means to establish the nature of all dharmas. Those two Bodhisattvas also, after that...

There was no sleep even between twenty thousand, and there was no desire, anger, or any thought of harming. There was no thought of food, no thought of sleep, no cause for illness, and no thought of seeking medicine or anything else. Without delighting in worldly spectacles, conversations, and games, the Tathagata, with single-pointed concentration, taught the Dharma, and without rising from his seat, he attained forbearance of the Dharma of non-origination. Then, the Tathagata spoke, saying: 'Son of good family, concerning the classification of the nature of all dharmas, do you seek such skillful means?' The two Bodhisattvas replied: 'World Honored One, we do not even truly see the name of being skilled in the means of classifying the nature of all dharmas, nor do we truly see the Dharma of being skilled in the means of classifying the nature of all dharmas, let alone being skilled in the means of classifying the nature of all dharmas. World Honored One, we do not even truly perceive all dharmas, nor do we truly perceive the classification of dharmas, therefore, we neither abide in all dharmas nor do we not abide. World Honored One, with such a view, what difference does it make whether we seek or do not seek such skillful means for classifying the nature of all dharmas? World Honored One, we do not even truly see seeking such skillful means for classifying the nature of all dharmas, whether it is within, without, or in between. We do not truly see what is called all dharmas, or such skillful means for classifying the nature of dharmas. We do not truly see any dharma, whether within, without, or in between, what is called all dharmas, or such skillful means for classifying the nature of dharmas.

If there is not even a little bit of clinging or something to rely on, how should we establish these? O Blessed One, we have not truly seen anything in the past, present, or future that can serve as a place of establishment. If a place of establishment does not truly exist, where and what should we establish? O Blessed One, because there is no establishment, there is also no abiding in accordance with establishment, nor is there non-abiding in accordance with establishment, therefore it is like having no thought, like having no birth. O Blessed One, if we do not truly see from where, by what, in what place, at what time, our mind, intellect, and consciousness arise or cease, then how should we speak of the skillful means of establishing the nature of all phenomena by mind, intellect, and consciousness? When the two Bodhisattvas of boundless wisdom spoke thus before that Tathagata, a thousand Bodhisattvas attained forbearance of the Dharma of non-origination. Millions of billions of Bodhisattvas generated the mind of unsurpassed perfect enlightenment. Then, the Tathagata King Moon Lamp spoke again, saying: Son of good family, just as you abide in non-abiding by being without abiding, thereby abiding in the skillful means of establishing the nature of all phenomena, so too, son of good family, are all phenomena. The Tathagata, in order to accord with the world, demonstrates attaining unsurpassed perfect enlightenment. If the Tathagata did not accord with the world, he would not demonstrate attaining unsurpassed perfect enlightenment. Son of good family, phenomena have no dwelling place, nor is there non-dwelling. Whatever is called dwelling and non-dwelling, all these are in accordance with the world. Whatever is in accordance with the world, there is no phenomenon in it.
