Do you not universally bestow upon all sentient beings? If you do not cherish sentient beings as you cherish yourself, then such armor and the Great Vehicle Dharma cannot be borne even by the great earth, nor can all sentient beings rely on it. Thus, having donned the great armor for the sake of loving and benefiting sentient beings, and abiding on this path by riding the Great Vehicle, therefore, this armor and the great path of the Great Vehicle cannot be traversed even by all beings of the world, including gods, humans, and asuras. How much less can it be seen by those childish ordinary people who are attached to the world and delight in dwelling in it? Furthermore, the great Bodhisattvas don the great armor for the sake of loving all sentient beings. Thus, by the power of the armor, the elements of earth, water, fire, and wind are blessed, so that this earth element does not shake or tremble, and all sentient beings do not generate fear. The elements of water, fire, and wind also perform their respective functions accordingly. Furthermore, the Bodhisattva Mahasattvas first generate the mind of enlightenment and don the armor. Having donned this great armor, riding this Great Vehicle Dharma, they proceed on the pure path towards the stage of one lifetime away from Buddhahood, walking towards the Bodhi tree, and until they enter the Bodhi field. If this exceedingly stable mandala of earth, made of vajra, of the three thousand great thousand worlds is not blessed, it will shake and tremble. Even though it is made of exceedingly stable vajra, it will not be fit to bear this great armor and the great path of the Great Vehicle. Furthermore, the Bodhisattva Mahasattvas generate loving-kindness and great compassion towards sentient beings through past aspirations, and together praise the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas of the ten directions. If not blessed, it is not suitable to wear the great armor and cultivate these great Mahayana paths. Furthermore, Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas, because of the power of past aspirations, because of the blessing of the past aspirations of the Tathagatas, in order not to harm sentient beings, in order not to do harm, in order not to treat unequally, in order not to frighten, in order not to hold as retinue, in order not to torment, in order not to disturb, in order to make sentient beings attain happiness, they put on great armor and ride the Mahayana, abide in this path, and thus strive for the unexcelled perfect enlightenment. Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas of boundless wisdom, when putting on armor, put on the armor of wisdom, hold the weapon of wisdom, and completely dedicate it with great wisdom. Riding the vehicle of complete dedication, they generate the light of wisdom. Abiding in the path of light, they separately examine the dharmas with the eye of the light of wisdom, and thus strive for the omniscient wisdom. In order to accomplish omniscient wisdom and gather sentient beings, they cultivate the perfections of generosity, morality, patience, diligence, and meditation. Everything is preceded by wisdom, manifested and accomplished by wisdom, and completely gathered by wisdom, thus completely dedicating it to the unexcelled perfect enlightenment. Then, the Bodhisattva-Mahasattva of boundless wisdom said to the Bhagavan: Bhagavan, it is truly wonderful that Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas, with various aspects of wisdom, pervade everything and accomplish and gather immeasurable Buddha-dharmas. O Immeasurable Wisdom, it is so, it is so. Just as you have said, Bodhisattvas Mahasattvas are all-pervasive with various kinds of wisdom, completely gathering all dharmas. Having donned great armor, mounted the Great Vehicle, and abiding on this Great Path, all are diligently engaged with wisdom as their guide. O Immeasurable Wisdom, if one possesses wisdom but does not have wisdom as a guide, one will not diligently engage in this path. If one possesses wisdom and is all-pervasive with wisdom as a guide, then one enters accordingly, practices accordingly, is completely gathered by wisdom, and is completely bound by wisdom. Only then is it said to have donned great armor, mounted the Great Vehicle, and abided on this Great Path, benefiting the world with the Dharma of supreme bliss and opening the eye of wisdom. Having separately examined with the eye of wisdom, and with the body illuminated by wisdom, emitting great rays of light, one diligently engages in the Unsurpassed Perfect and Complete Enlightenment. O Immeasurable Wisdom, this is the armor to be donned by Bodhisattvas Mahasattvas, the adornment of armor, the Great Vehicle to be mounted, the adornment of the Great Vehicle, the Great Path to be traversed, the adornment of the Great Path, and the means to diligently engage in the Unsurpassed Perfect and Complete Enlightenment. O Immeasurable Wisdom, if I were to fully describe the adornment of the armor of the noble being, the adornment of the Great Vehicle, the adornment of the Great Path, and all the various adornments of qualities, even if I were to speak for immeasurable eons, it would not come to an end. However, for the sake of your understanding and for the sake of future noble beings obtaining the adornment of armor, the adornment of the Great Vehicle, the adornment of the Great Path, and the adornment of the immeasurable collection of qualities, I will now briefly indicate a small portion. If those noble beings hear the Dharma I have indicated, they will obtain great armor.
