In order to do this, having completely filled this three-thousand great thousandfold world realm with the seven precious things, giving and giving alms, if one wishes to be born in that Buddha-field, then, noble son, Blessed One, it is well given, well relinquished, and well born. The Bodhisattva Mahasattva has well arrived in that Buddha-field. Having thus requested, the Blessed One spoke to the son of Sharadvati, the Venerable One, saying: Sharadvati's son, it is just so, just as you have said. Sharadvati's son, since it is filled with those who have gone well and been well born, therefore that Buddha-field is completely filled with Bodhisattva Mahasattvas. Sharadvati's son, it is like this: for example, a kind of gold without gravel, without shards, without stones and dust, abiding in the essence of purity, from which gold is taken, and melted and hammered with two piles, and having melted and hammered it, made into various other ornaments, and worn on the body. Likewise, Sharadvati's son, the Blessed One, the Tathagata, Arhat, Perfectly Complete Buddha, the Bodhisattva Mahasattvas of the Buddha-field of the Immovable One, all abide in the essence of purity. Sharadvati's son, it should be known that the Bodhisattva Mahasattvas assembled in the Buddha-field of the Tathagata Immovable One are pure. Sharadvati's son, in the Buddha-field of the Blessed One, the Tathagata, Arhat, Perfectly Complete Buddha, the Immovable One, all those who have been born, will be born, or will be born in the future, all belong to the category called 'purity of mind'. All of them belong to the category called 'non-returning'. All of them belong to the category called 'one refuge', that is, relying on the Tathagata. Sharadvati's son, how is it that a Bodhisattva Mahasattva is one refuge? Sharadvati's son, whatever Bodhisattva Mahasattva relies on the Tathagata,

Becoming that is called relying on the one. Furthermore, relying on the one is called the expression of the Hearers and the Solitary Buddhas who are utterly transcendent of all. Sharadvatiputra, therefore, Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas relying on the one, wishing to obtain reliance on the Tathagata, should be born in the Buddha-field of the Bhagavan Tathagata Arhat Samyaksambuddha Akshobhya. Sharadvatiputra, those Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas whom I have prophesied to be irreversible, they should also be born in the presence of the Bhagavan Tathagata Arhat Samyaksambuddha Akshobhya. Sharadvatiputra, those Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas whom I have sent to the presence of the Bhagavan Tathagata Arhat Samyaksambuddha Akshobhya, those I have not completely abandoned. Sharadvatiputra, for example, a king, a Kshatriya who has been empowered from the crown of his head, having obtained power, strength, and diligence, desiring kingship, desiring wealth, and desiring land, sends to the enemy king's place to fight. Then the enemy king hears that the king has been sent to fight because he desires kingship, desires wealth, and desires land. Having heard this, the king thinks to himself, 'All those jewels and the retinues of the queens, the sons and daughters, and those young men who cannot fight, if they are all sent to where the king's army is and where it is difficult to conquer, they will live in peace, but here they will suffer,' thinking thus, he hides them in another city. Sharadvatiputra, likewise, those Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas whom I have sent to the presence of the Bhagavan Tathagata Arhat Samyaksambuddha Akshobhya, those I have not completely abandoned. Sharadvatiputra, just as the vast Kshatriya who has been empowered from the crown of his head, those jewels and the retinues of the queens, the sons and daughters, and those who cannot fight,

Like the hidden youths, sons and daughters of the Bodhisattva vehicle should behold. Sharadvatiputra, like the city where many precious jewels, retinues of consorts, sons, daughters, and youths who cannot fight are hidden, one should behold the Buddha-field of the Bhagavan Tathagata Arhat Samyaksambuddha Akshobhya. Sharadvatiputra, like the king who shines in battle, one should behold the Maras who dwell in this Buddha-field, engaging in activities that obstruct the sons and daughters of the Bodhisattva vehicle, and who have entered into arrogance. Sharadvatiputra, like a king who is powerful and difficult to subdue, one should behold the Bhagavan Tathagata Arhat Samyaksambuddha Akshobhya, whom all the Maras and gods of the Mara's retinue cannot subdue. Sharadvatiputra, it is like this: for example, a person who is frightened and terrified by debt will flee to a remote city where the creditor or the creditor's people cannot reach. Why is that? Because there, the path by which the creditor or the creditor's people come is cut off. Sharadvatiputra, similarly, for those Bodhisattvas Mahasattvas who are born in the Buddha-field of the Bhagavan Tathagata Arhat Samyaksambuddha Akshobhya, the path of the evil Maras and the gods of the Mara's retinue is also cut off. Sharadvatiputra, in this three-thousand great thousand world system, the evil Maras and the gods of the Mara's retinue who dwell, in order to create obstacles for the individuals of the Bodhisattva vehicle and the individuals of the Hearer vehicle who dwell in this three-thousand great thousand world system, approach and enter into arrogance. In the Buddha-field of the Bhagavan Tathagata Arhat Samyaksambuddha Akshobhya, the Maras and the gods of the Mara's retinue approach for the sake of the Mara's activities.
