Until I have not become irreversible from the Dharmas of the Buddhas, I will not awaken to unsurpassed, perfectly complete enlightenment. Ananda, from then on, the Bhikshu Dharmodaya, by the power of the Buddhas, having shown these kinds of special aspirations, recited these verses at that time: If when I attain enlightenment, the supreme aspiration does not become like this, Possessing the ten powers, incomparable, the place of giving, May I not become a lion among men, the essence of beings. If my field does not become like that, Not bestowing abundant wealth on many poor beings, If I do not bring happiness to those who have become miserable, May I not become a king among men, the protector of beings. When I am near the Bodhi tree, Many fields in all directions, Vast and boundless, my name is not renowned, May I not become the protector of the world, the one who has attained power. When seeking the incomparable, peaceful, true enlightenment, If my memory, intelligence, and understanding decline, If I enjoy worldly pleasures, May I not become the teacher of the world, the one who has attained power. Light extremely vast, incomparable, boundless, The Buddhas' fields of the protector pervade all directions and intermediate directions. May all attachment, hatred, and delusion be completely pacified, May the fires of beings falling into hell be extinguished. Having opened eyes that are extremely beautiful and vast, May I dispel the darkness of all people. Having completely eliminated all imperfections, May I lead boundless glory to the path of heaven. Having purified all former conduct, The light of the sun and moon in the sky is no longer bright, And the gatherings of jewels, fire, and gods, All will be subdued by the light of the lion among men. May I become the supreme person, the destroyer of suffering, In all directions there is no such form, Having perfectly completed hundreds of thousands of virtues, Being in the midst of the retinue, may I roar the lion's roar of the Buddha. Having revered the self-born Buddhas of the past, Having practiced countless billions of austerities,

After bestowing the supreme and excellent wisdom treasure, may the power of aspiration be fulfilled, becoming the essence of sentient beings. Just as the Bhagavan, the Lord of Wisdom, has unobstructed vision, the king of men fully understands the three aspects of conditioned phenomena. May I also be unequaled, becoming a wise one who is a place of giving, and among people, may I become the supreme guide of men. After I, the king of men, attain enlightenment, if these aspirations are fulfilled, then this thousandfold world will be greatly shaken, and the assembly of gods will shower flowers from the sky. The earth will also be greatly shaken, and flowers will be showered, and from the sky will come the sound of musical instruments. The beautiful sandalwood powder of the gods will also be visibly scattered, and the world will become a Buddha-field. Second Chapter. Ananda, the monk Dharma-born Bodhisattva Mahasattva is endowed with such a complete aspiration. Ananda, bodhisattvas endowed with such complete aspirations are few. Such aspirations rarely appear in the world; they are rare, but not non-existent. Ananda, the monk Dharma-born, in the presence of the Bhagavan Tathagata, the King of Worldly Freedom, before the world with gods, with demons, with Brahma, with ascetics and Brahmins, with gods and humans, and with non-humans, having shown such distinctions of aspiration, abides in accomplishment as it is. He accomplishes pure Buddha-fields, vast Buddha-fields, and such great and extensive Buddha-fields. Practicing the conduct of a bodhisattva, for hundreds of millions of billions of years, immeasurable, countless, inconceivable, incomparable, unmeasurable, limitless, unspeakable, he never once thought of desire, harm, or violence. He never once generated the perception of desire, harm, or violence. He never once generated the perception of form, sound, smell, taste, or touch. The youth

Therefore, if one is accompanied by trees, one feels at ease, has a nature of being receptive, is easy to satisfy and easy to nourish, has few desires and is content, is extremely secluded and without hatred, without ignorance and is upright, not inferior and without hypocrisy, without deceit and has good character, is gentle and speaks pleasantly, is constantly diligent, and does not abandon diligence in seeking all white dharmas. One perfectly accomplishes great aspirations for the benefit of all sentient beings. With respect for the Buddha, Dharma, Sangha, teachers, Khenpos, and virtuous friends, and constantly donning the armor of the Bodhisattva's conduct, being upright and gentle, without pretense and without flattery, possessing qualities and going before causing all sentient beings to truly uphold all virtuous dharmas. One abides in the state of emptiness, signlessness, wishlessness, without manifest action, without birth, and without cessation, without arrogance and well-guarded. When practicing the conduct of a Bodhisattva, one abandons those actions that harm oneself, others, and both, and strives to do those actions that benefit oneself, others, and both. Thus, becoming one with mindfulness, when entering villages, cities, towns, rural areas, and the palaces of kings, one never develops attachment or anger towards forms, sounds, smells, tastes, tactile objects, and dharmas. When he practices the conduct of a Bodhisattva, he himself also practices the perfection of generosity and causes others to truly uphold it. He himself also practices the perfections of discipline, patience, diligence, meditation, and wisdom, and also causes others to truly uphold them. Whoever possesses these qualities, wherever they are born, countless treasures will emerge from the earth, and in this way, all roots of virtue will be perfectly accomplished. That is the Bodhisattva's...
