Even if staying in hundreds of thousands of millions of kotis, one cannot declare the limits of the qualities of those noble beings, and the fearlessness of the Tathagata will not be cut off. Why is that? Kungawo, for example, the qualities of those Bodhisattvas, and the unsurpassed wisdom and fearlessness of the Tathagata, both are inconceivable and incomparable. Kungawo, arise, face the west, scatter flowers and join your palms, and in whatever direction the Blessed One, the Tathagata, the Arhat, the perfectly enlightened Buddha Amitabha, who is immaculate and extremely pure, abides, seeks, and teaches the Dharma, pay homage in that direction. His name is also known without obstruction in the ten directions, and in each direction there are Buddhas, Blessed Ones, as numerous as the sands of the Ganges, who do not have speech impediments and do not have speech obstructions, who praise and extol him more than once, and speak sweetly. After speaking thus, the venerable Kungawo said to the Blessed One: Blessed One, I wish to behold the Tathagata, the Arhat, the perfectly enlightened Buddha Amitabha, and Amitayus, and the Bodhisattvas Mahasattvas who have generated roots of virtue in countless hundreds of thousands of millions of kotis of Buddhas. As soon as the venerable Kungawo spoke these words, immediately, from the palm of the hand of the Tathagata, the Arhat, the perfectly enlightened Buddha, emanated a light that would illuminate hundreds of thousands of millions of Buddhafields with its radiance. At that time, in all the hundreds of thousands of millions of Buddhafields, whether it was a black mountain, or a jewel mountain, or Mount Sumeru, or Great Mount Sumeru, or a pair of trees, or a great pair of trees, or a surrounding mountain, or a great surrounding mountain, or a wall, or a pillar, or a dense forest, or a pleasure garden, or a palace, or any beings such as gods and humans, all of these were subdued and overwhelmed by the light of the Tathagata Amitabha. For example, when the sun rises, a person standing about a bow-shot away, that person

When viewed in this way, at that time, it is like this: due to the power of the Buddha and the complete purity of the light, monks and nuns, laymen and laywomen, gods and nagas, yakshas and gandharvas, asuras and garudas, kinnaras and mahoragas, humans and non-humans, from this Buddha-field, the Tathagata, Arhat, Samyak-sambuddha Amitabha, like Mount Sumeru, appears supremely from all Buddha-fields, subduing all directions, with radiant splendor, and the great assembly of Bodhisattvas, and the Sangha of monks, can all be seen. It is like this: for example, if this great earth were to turn into one water, then there would be no trees on it, no mountains, no islands, no grass, shrubs, herbs, and forests, nor would there be rivers, deep valleys, and cliffs visible, except for the great earth turning into one ocean. Similarly, in that Buddha-field, apart from the light of one fathom manifested from the bodies of the Shravakas, and the light of the Bodhisattvas, which is hundreds of thousands of kotis of yojanas, no other signs or characteristics can be seen. O Bhagavan, the Tathagata, Arhat, Samyak-sambuddha Amitabha, with his light subdues that assembly of Shravakas and that assembly of Bodhisattvas, and illuminates all directions. At that time, in that Sukhavati world, all the Bodhisattvas, Shravakas, Pratyekabuddhas, gods and humans, and in this Saha world, the Tathagata Shakyamuni surrounded by the great Sangha of monks and teaching the Dharma, also appear. Then, the Bhagavan said to the Bodhisattva Mahasattva Maitreya: Maitreya, you see the perfect qualities and adornments of that Buddha-field, and the delightful gardens in the upper sky, the delightful forests, the delightful flower gardens, the rivers and ponds, and the precious……

Filled with lotus flowers, water lilies, and white lotuses, starting from the ground below, the surface of the sky in the realm of Akanishta is scattered with flowers, adorned beautifully with garlands of flowers, and filled with garlands shining with various jewels. Do you see the various birds manifested by the Tathagata being displayed? He replied: "Venerable One, I see them." The Venerable One said: "Maitreya, do you see that other than these, there are many flocks of birds whose sounds are heard throughout all Buddha-fields, and who constantly remind the Bodhisattvas of the Buddha, never separating from that remembrance?" He replied: "Venerable One, I see them." The Venerable One said: "Maitreya, do you see that in this Buddha-field, these beings enter immeasurable palaces that are hundreds of thousands of yojanas in size, and travel in the sky without obstruction?" He replied: "Venerable One, I see them." The Venerable One said: "Maitreya, what do you think of this? Is there any difference between the gods of Paranirmitavasavartin and the people born in the Sukhavati realm?". He replied: "Venerable One, I have not truly seen any difference, because the light of the Sukhavati realm lasts until the end of their lives." The Venerable One said: "Maitreya, do you see that in the Sukhavati realm, some people dwell in the calyxes of great lotuses?" He replied: "Venerable One, just as the gods of the Trayastrimsa and Akrodha heavens enter palaces of fifty, one hundred, or five hundred yojanas in size, and enjoy play and joy, so too, Venerable One, I see some people in the Sukhavati realm dwelling in the wombs of great lotuses." Venerable One, there, some beings are born miraculously, sitting cross-legged on the lotuses. Venerable One, some dwell in the calyxes of lotuses, and some are born miraculously sitting cross-legged on lotuses. What is the cause of this? What is the condition? The Venerable One said:
