One should not have particular attachment to anything. Therefore, one should have a state of mind that truly rejoices through obtaining things. Therefore, his karmic obscurations will be completely purified, and he will also certainly turn towards enlightenment. If one universally knows how to speak of giving, one will abide in the first ground. By the path of the ten virtuous actions, one reaches the second ground. By the words of hearing, one reaches the third ground. By the qualities and resources of practice, and by the words of becoming a Buddha, one reaches the fourth ground. By the words of meditative absorption, one reaches the fifth ground. By the words of well-combined and completely expressed speech, one reaches the sixth ground. By the words of selflessness, one reaches the seventh ground. By the words of wisdom's arrangement, one reaches the eighth ground. By the words of the Buddha's arrangement, one reaches the ninth ground. By the words of the measure of the body, one reaches the tenth ground. The first ground is diligence in resources. The second ground is diligence in discipline. The third ground is diligence in light. The fourth ground is diligence in the seven riches. The fifth ground is diligence in abiding. The sixth ground is diligence in thorough ascertainment. The seventh ground is diligence in certainty. The eighth ground is diligence in clairvoyance and individual correct knowledge. The ninth ground is diligence in conduct. The tenth ground is diligence in the immeasurable. His first ground has an obstacle to the root of virtue. The second ground has an obstacle to discipline. The third ground has an obstacle to manifest exertion. The fourth ground has an obstacle to the object of focus. The fifth ground has an obstacle to the aspect. The sixth ground has an obstacle to profound patience. The seventh ground has an obstacle to discriminating wisdom. The eighth ground has an obstacle to fully ripening sentient beings. The ninth ground has an obstacle to the aggregates of consciousness. The tenth ground has an obstacle to purifying the field. Vajra Destroyer, furthermore, if any Bodhisattva universally knows that in a dream he dwells in a city, then that Bodhisattva is prophesied to be irreversible in those eight grounds.

Therefore, one should rely on and attend to the person who has faith in the profound, and make offerings to him. If one has many doubts about the Dharma and has obstacles, one should rely on and attend to the one who speaks the Dharma. If one makes offerings, one will eliminate regret. Therefore, that person's karmic obscurations will be purified, and they will definitely progress towards enlightenment. Among them, one who abides in the first ground has doubts about whether they will become a Buddha, and hesitates about enlightenment. One who abides in the second ground hesitates about taking it correctly. One who abides in the third ground hesitates about wisdom. One who abides in the fourth ground hesitates about practicing samadhi. One who abides in the fifth ground hesitates about knowing things as they are. One who abides in the sixth ground hesitates about the path and the result. One who abides in the seventh ground hesitates about the definitive word. One who abides in the eighth ground hesitates about various transformations. Vajra Destroyer, furthermore, if a Bodhisattva dreams that they are building a bridge and have gone into the middle of a river, then that Bodhisattva should be regarded as being in the first seven grounds. Because they have heavy karmic obscurations and much demonic activity, they should generate strong desire, be without support, not abide in distinctions, and if they manifest before the Sangha, the light of the unborn Dharma will be purified. If there is an obstacle to the light of knowledge, then one is on the first ground. If one does not experience physical comfort in the roots of virtue that one strives for, then that Bodhisattva is on the second ground. If one does not experience comfort in the gaps of the mind, then that Bodhisattva is on the third ground. If one has some appearances, then that Bodhisattva is on the fourth ground. If one has little fearlessness, then one is on the fifth ground. If there is an obstacle to fully ripening, then one is on the sixth ground. If there is an obstacle to the teachings, then one is on the seventh ground. Vajra Destroyer, furthermore, if a Bodhisattva dreams that they are ferrying a boat, then that Bodhisattva should be regarded as being in these six grounds. Because they practice the six perfections equally and with obstacles, they do not abide on the other shore.
