One should rely on the perfection of the earth. Because the activities of demons are heavier there and the obscurations of karma are lighter, one should focus on emptiness, cultivate higher vision extensively, and practice diligently. Therefore, his karmic obscurations will be purified, and he will surely attain enlightenment. If he knows that he is riding on a standing horse, he should be regarded as the first bhumi. If he knows that he is riding on a walking horse, he should be regarded as the second bhumi. If he knows that he is riding on a running horse, he should be regarded as the third bhumi. If he knows that he is riding on a decorated horse, he should be regarded as the fourth bhumi, except for the activities of demons. For the higher bhumis, everything is seen as perfect, except for the arrogant bodhisattvas and the activities of demons. Vajra Destroyer, furthermore, any bodhisattva who knows in a dream that he is blessed by truth, that bodhisattva can be regarded as any of the ten bhumis. Because the activities of demons are small there, and the obscurations of karma are heavier. Therefore, he should examine it in many places, and he should also be skilled in cultivating samadhi, be upright in conduct, and be free from distractions. Therefore, his karmic obscurations will be purified, and he will surely attain enlightenment. If he blesses with generosity, then that bodhisattva should be regarded as the first bhumi. To be liberated from bondage, it should be regarded as the second bhumi. To liberate the sick, it should be regarded as the third bhumi. For the city, it should be regarded as the fourth bhumi. For the king, it should be the fifth bhumi. For the four continents, it should be the sixth bhumi. For the thousand worlds, it should be the seventh bhumi. For the two thousand worlds, it should be the eighth bhumi. For the three thousand worlds, it should be the ninth bhumi. For the appearance of light, the shaking of the earth, and the gods raining down flowers, it should be regarded as the tenth bhumi. For these six bhumis, except for the activities of demons. Vajra Destroyer, furthermore, any bodhisattva who sees a fruit-bearing tree in a dream, then that bodhisattva should be regarded as the first to seventh bhumis, because he possesses the Dharma of complete prophecy. One should respectfully serve, be upright, and not be attached to good and evil. Thus, his karmic obscurations will be purified, and he will surely attain enlightenment. If one sees a tree with few fruits, it should be regarded as the first ground. If one sees a tree with many fruits, it should be regarded as the second ground. If one sees a tree with sweet-tasting fruits, it should be regarded as the third ground. If one sees a tree with fragrant fruits, the Bodhisattva should be regarded as the fourth ground. If one sees a tree whose fruits can be used as medicine, the Bodhisattva should be regarded as the fifth ground. If one sees a tree with fruits from the heavenly realm, the Bodhisattva should be regarded as the sixth ground. If one sees a tree with fruits that have the taste of nectar, the Bodhisattva should be regarded as the seventh ground. Vajra Destroyer, furthermore, if a Bodhisattva sees a flowering tree in a dream, the Bodhisattva should be regarded as any of the above seven grounds. Therefore, he should diligently engage in various virtuous deeds, and when practicing virtuous Dharma, he should not mix with the four inversions, but should diligently go to solitary places. Thus, his karmic obscurations will be purified, and he will surely attain enlightenment. If one sees a tree with many flowers but no fragrance, the Bodhisattva should be regarded as the first ground. If one sees a tree with fragrant flowers, the Bodhisattva should be regarded as the second ground. If one sees a tree with many flowers and fragrance, the Bodhisattva should be regarded as the third ground. If one sees a tree with both flowers and fruits, the Bodhisattva should be regarded as the fourth ground. If one sees a flowering tree with few leaves, the Bodhisattva should be regarded as the fifth ground. If one sees a heavenly flowering tree, the Bodhisattva should be regarded as the sixth ground. If one sees a Bodhi tree, the Bodhisattva should be regarded as the seventh ground, except for the works of Mara. The higher grounds have no reversed signs. Gold
