In order to perfectly accomplish the great prayer of increase, and with extremely vast compassion, having truly seen that oneself has approached the state of omniscience. From all the Buddhas, with the conduct of the Bodhisattva Samantabhadra, one truly receives the appearance of the Dharma. And in order to increase the light of the ten powers of the Tathagata, one diligently seeks out a wise householder. In the middle of the city's main road, at a crossroads, there is a platform made of seven precious substances. Upon it is placed a throne made of countless jewels, the legs of the throne are vajras, adorned with various kinds of Indranila sapphires, and perfectly covered with a net of golden threads. With about five hundred jewels, the essence of immaculate gems, the form is beautifully adorned. Various celestial cushions are spread out. From all sides, banners of celestial garments and many flags are hung. All around are nets of countless jewels, and a great canopy of jewels is suspended. From the canopy hang many garlands of gold and precious flowers. He is sitting there. An umbrella made of Jambu River gold, with a handle made of immaculate beryl, is held upright beside him. With an immaculate jewel yak-tail whisk, like a king of swans, he is beautifully fanned. With various instruments of incense offerings, he is perfumed and purified. About five hundred musicians striking and playing instruments, from the left and right, strike and play beautiful sounds that transcend celestial music. In order to make the beings dwelling in the great city extremely happy, a rain of clouds of celestial flowers falls from all directions. About ten thousand attendants, who in the past shared the same roots of virtue and enjoyed the same fortune, listen to his commands and serve him to their heart's content. They are all beautifully adorned with ornaments that surpass celestial beauty, have fulfilled the aspirations of Bodhisattvas, and completely transcend the forms of gods and humans. Seeing him surrounded by these people, the merchant's son Norzang went to where the wise householder was. 绕着（那个方向）转圈后，坐在前面，合掌，说了这样的话：圣者，我是这样想的，要平息一切众生的痛苦，要让一切众生都非常快乐，要将一切众生从轮回的苦海中解脱出来，要将一切众生都送往珍宝之洲，要彻底晒干一切众生的贪欲之湿，要如实生起一切众生的慈悲之湿，要断绝一切众生的欲望之乐和贪欲，要让一切众生都信奉和修习佛陀的智慧，要将一切众生从轮回的荒野中解脱出来，要让一切众生都如实生起对佛陀的功德和佛法的欢喜与信奉，要将一切众生从三界的城市中解脱出来，要将一切众生都安置在一切智者的宫殿中，为了众生的一切利益，发起了无上圆满正等觉之心。然而，菩萨应该如何修学菩萨的行持呢？又应该如何精进呢？我不知道。我听说圣者您对菩萨们有教诲和开示。圣者，请您为我讲解菩萨应该如何修学菩萨的行持，以及如何修学才能使菩萨们成为一切众生的依靠。说了这些话之后，居士智者对商人的儿子诺桑说道：善男子，你这样发起无上圆满正等觉之心，太好了，太好了！善男子，任何众生发起了无上圆满正等觉之心，并且完全寻求菩萨的行持，对于善知识，看也看不够，去善知识那里也不厌倦，侍奉善知识也不懈怠，寻找善知识也不会生起不愉快的心情，从寻找善知识中也不会

Having circumambulated (that direction), he sat down in front, joined his palms, and spoke these words: "O Blessed One, this is what I think: to pacify the suffering of all sentient beings, to make all sentient beings exceedingly happy, to liberate all sentient beings from the ocean of samsara, to lead all sentient beings to the island of precious Dharma, to completely dry up the moisture of desire of all sentient beings, to truly generate the moisture of compassion of all sentient beings, to turn away the joy of desire and craving of all sentient beings, to make all sentient beings believe in and practice the wisdom of the Buddha, to liberate all sentient beings from the wilderness of samsara, to truly generate joy and faith in the qualities and Dharma of the Buddha in all sentient beings, to liberate all sentient beings from the city of the three realms, and to place all sentient beings in the palace of the all-knowing. For the sake of all sentient beings, I have entered into the unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment. However, how should a Bodhisattva train in the conduct of a Bodhisattva? And how should one diligently practice? I do not know. I have heard that you, O Blessed One, give instructions and teachings to Bodhisattvas. O Blessed One, please explain to me how a Bodhisattva should train in the conduct of a Bodhisattva, and how training can make Bodhisattvas become the refuge of all sentient beings." After saying these words, the wise householder said to Norzang, the son of the merchant: "Son of good family, it is excellent, excellent that you have generated the mind of unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment! Son of good family, any sentient being who generates the mind of unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment, and who fully seeks the conduct of a Bodhisattva, never tires of looking at the virtuous friend, never gets weary of going to the virtuous friend, is never lazy in serving the virtuous friend, never generates unpleasant feelings when seeking the virtuous friend, and never turns back from seeking the virtuous friend.
