In the great forest named Peaceful Auspiciousness in the east of Lotus Light, there is a king of jewels, resplendent with the light of all ornaments, near the great Bodhi tree manifested by all Buddhas. The Tathagata, named King Who Utterly Proclaims All Dharmas, attained unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment. By that power, all the realms of the world, the origin of jewels and auspiciousness, were filled and expanded with great light of various colors. In the king's abode called Lotus Light, there resides a night goddess named Extremely Pure Moonlight. She went to the queen, Dharma Wisdom Moon, and awakened her with the sound of ornaments being unfastened, and said: "O queen, know this! In the great forest of Peaceful Auspiciousness, the Tathagata named King Who Utterly Proclaims All Dharmas has attained unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment." Then, she praised the qualities of the Buddha before that queen, as well as the manifestations of the Buddha, the conduct of the Bodhisattva Samantabhadra, and extensively explained the aspirations. Son of good family, that queen was also illuminated by the light of the Tathagata, and with firm resolve, she correctly entered into unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment. She made great offerings and services to that Tathagata, as well as to the Bodhisattvas and the Sangha of Shravakas. Son of good family, what do you think? Do you think that the queen named Dharma Wisdom Moon at that time was someone else? Do not view it that way. I was the queen named Dharma Wisdom Moon at that time. Son of good family, by that generation of faith and the root of virtue generated towards the Tathagata, for as many kalpas as there are extremely fine particles of Mount Meru, I have never been born into the lower realms, nor have I been in the hells, nor have I been in the animal realm.

She was not a preta. She was never born into a low caste. She never became without faculties. She never suffered. Thus, she always obtained the great sovereignty of the gods among the gods. Among humans, she obtained the great sovereignty of humans. In this way, she was never separated from the virtuous friends of the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. She was also not born in an evil time. Son of good family, in this way, she accumulated roots of virtue from one Buddha to another, and even though she went without negligence from the easy and even path for as many kalpas as there are extremely fine dust particles of Mount Meru, she did not thereby perfect the faculties of a Bodhisattva. Those kalpas, as many as the extremely fine dust particles of Mount Meru, have passed. Before this Fortunate Aeon, at the time when the beginning of ten thousand great aeons fell, in the world called 'Glorious, Dustless,' an aeon of no sorrow and free from dust arose. Son of good family, the splendor of the world 'Glorious, Dustless' became completely purified from all defilements. There, five hundred Buddhas appeared. At the beginning of those five hundred Buddhas, the Tathagata, Arhat, Samyaksambuddha, Vidyacharana Sampanna, Sugata, Lokavidu, Anuttara, Purushadamyasarathi, Devamanushyanam Shasta, Buddha, Bhagavan, named 'Mount Meru Banner, Wide-Eyed, Peaceful Glory' appeared in the world. At that time, she also became the daughter of a merchant, famous and renowned, named 'Glory of Wisdom Light,' beautiful in form, virtuous, pleasing to behold, with a complexion that was extremely beautiful and flourishing. That night goddess named 'Moon, Utterly Pure Light' also, by the power of her aspiration, in the kingdom of the dust-free king of the four continents, in various banners, became the night goddess named 'Eye Utterly Pure.' When she kept her from sleeping even for a moment at night, her parents had fallen asleep, and that house was also completely moved, illuminated by great light, and then she showed her own form, praised the qualities of the Buddha,
