The Tathagatas should be worshiped. The teachings of all Buddhas should be fully embraced. All Buddha-fields should be purified. The lineage of all Tathagatas should not be severed. The minds and bodies of all sentient beings should be matured. The suffering of all sentient beings in samsara should be eliminated. Sentient beings should be made to rejoice in happiness by transcending the limits. The wisdom eyes of all sentient beings should be purified. All Bodhisattvas should strive in their practice. All Bodhisattvas should abide in equanimity. The grounds of all Bodhisattvas should be perfected. All realms of sentient beings should be purified. In order to cut off the poverty of all sentient beings, all my wealth should be given away. When practicing the perfection of generosity in an eon that reaches the end of the future, sentient beings should be satisfied by the generosity of food and drink. By completely giving away all material possessions, all assemblies of beggars should be satisfied. Thus, when I diligently practice completely giving away all that I own, there is nothing, whether internal or external, that I do not give away. Therefore, I should give away my sons and daughters, and also my wife. Eyes, head, hands, feet, and all limbs should also be completely given away. If you are given to others at that time, you will become an obstacle to my generosity. Completely giving away a beloved son will make one unhappy. One will also experience much suffering of body and mind. If I completely give away all that I own, it will turn into a miserly mind. When cutting off my limbs and giving them to beggars, one will also become unhappy. There will also be a time when I abandon you and go forth to practice the teachings of the Tathagata, and at that time you will also become unhappy. After saying this, the glorious prince then spoke in verse to his daughter, Delightful Light, who was extremely subdued: I will generate great compassion for all beings.
