A person who longed for the all-knowing wisdom came to that great offering ground. The merchant's daughter named Jewel Light, she sat on the right side of the great lion throne of the king, the Universal Proclaimer of the Umbrella of All Dharmas, not very far away. She did not take anything except to prostrate to the king. She sat on one side and generated this thought: 'I have seen such a good spiritual friend and am able to be with him, I have obtained what I should obtain well.' She generated the perception of a good spiritual friend, the perception of a teacher, the perception of being loving, the perception of being beneficial, and the perception of a Buddha towards the king, the Universal Proclaimer of the Umbrella of All Dharmas. With a mind without deceit, she obtained great joy, faith, and a vast power of delight. She unfastened all her ornaments from her body and gazed at where the king, the Universal Proclaimer of the Umbrella of All Dharmas, was. She scattered them, and they were scattered under his lion throne and on the platform of the throne. After scattering those ornaments in that way, she made a prayer: 'Just as the king, the Universal Proclaimer of the Umbrella of All Dharmas, has become the protector of helpless beings who are lost in the darkness, may I also become like that in the future. May I also know those dharmas that he knows. May I also arise from the vehicle by which he arises. May I also enter from the path from which he enters. Just as he has inexhaustible enjoyments that are pleasing to behold, and has endless servants and attendants, and is invincible and difficult to overcome, and has no one who can overcome him, may I also be like that. May I also be born wherever he will be born.' Thinking in this way and diligently applying her mind, the king, the Universal Proclaimer of the Umbrella of All Dharmas, knew and looked at her, saying:

Thus he spoke. Daughter, take whatever you need. Daughter, I will completely give away all possessions, and I am engaged in satisfying all sentient beings. Having said this, she thought in her heart, I have understood that the king is the center of the umbrella of the sound of all the Dharma. Thinking this, she became even more convinced. As she developed such a mind of conviction, the power of vast and extensive roots of virtue fully arose, and at that time, for the king who proclaims the center of the umbrella of the sound of all the Dharma, she spoke these verses: In the past, the earth was not adorned, these clouds, when you, Lion King, were not born, the color was not white, there was no splendor, how is it different from the terrifying place of the hungry ghosts? People were all keen on killing, and for what was not given, there was no rule or method, they lied and spoke harsh words, and also greatly proclaimed divisive speech, harboring a mind of greed for the wealth of others, and harboring malicious thoughts towards all others, with evil views as the place of action, falling into evil paths due to evil deeds. Those who practice evil Dharma as Dharma, obscured by the darkness of ignorance and delusion, due to falling into wrong views, seeing things in a reversed and confused way, for many years no rain fell. When rain did not fall, the seeds dried up, the crops did not grow, and even if they grew, they did not mature. The oceans and ponds, the sources of springs also dried up. The forests and plants were also the same. When you, pure one, were not born, all the rivers completely dried up. The gardens of food trees were like desolate mountains, and white bones filled the places. When you gathered many beggars, after satisfying all the beggars, great clouds gathered from all four directions, satisfying the plains and depressions. Thereafter, thieves and swindlers were eliminated, there was no killing, and no capture. The helpless will not die, you are the protector of all helpless beings. People who are keen on killing, killing others and craving their blood, one craving the flesh of another, because of your
