What is virtuous, and what is non-virtuous? What should be done and what should not be done so that it will bring meaning, happiness, and benefit for a long time? They do not ask or contemplate. They become even more ignorant than ignorance, blinded by delusion and conquered by arrogance. Not seeing the future is the act of arrogance. Overwhelmed by manifest arrogance, they do not rejoice in the birth of the Buddha, exhaust the roots of past virtue, do not newly accumulate, and do not speak and explain, and fighting and quarreling increase. They make great use of such Dharma, and even if they fall into a state of great desire, by the power and strength of the Bodhisattva, even if they still gain power, they will not see the birth of the Buddha even in hundreds of thousands of kalpas, let alone hear the Dharma. This is the tenth act of arrogance. O sons of the Victorious Ones, these ten are the acts of arrogance of the Bodhisattvas. Having completely abandoned them, the Bodhisattvas will attain the ten acts of wisdom. The Sutra of the Great and Vast Buddha's Marvels. Volume Twenty-Two. O sons of the Victorious Ones, these ten are the acts of wisdom of the Bodhisattvas. What are the ten? Thus, believing in the ripening of karma, not wasting cause and effect is the act of wisdom. Not abandoning the mind of enlightenment, constantly and continuously remembering the Buddha is the act of wisdom. Approaching and relying on virtuous friends, serving and attending to them, being respectful and reverent, regarding them as teachers, and being happy to listen is the act of wisdom. Seeking and desiring the Dharma, searching for the Dharma, not being satisfied with seeking to hear, applying oneself with proper attention, and completely abandoning improper attention is the act of wisdom. Having no arrogance towards sentient beings, cherishing Bodhisattvas as teachers, cherishing dharmas as oneself, cherishing the Tathagatas as life, striving diligently in practice, and rejoicing as if one were a Buddha is the act of wisdom. Being diligent in virtuous roots, avoiding non-virtuous roots, abiding in vows, and avoiding sin is the act of wisdom. Dedicating virtuous roots for the benefit of all sentient beings, and making vows in the presence of all the Tathagatas is the act of wisdom. Enduring all suffering for the benefit of all sentient beings, and accomplishing all virtuous roots for the benefit of all sentient beings is the act of wisdom. Accumulating the accumulations of merit and wisdom for the benefit of all sentient beings, and accomplishing the body of the Tathagata for the benefit of all sentient beings is the act of wisdom. O sons of the Victorious Ones, these ten are the acts of wisdom of the Bodhisattvas. Having completely accomplished these, the Bodhisattvas will attain the ten acts of wisdom. The Sutra of the Great and Vast Buddha's Marvels. Volume Twenty-Two.

Cherishing (others) is the activity of wisdom. The activities of body, speech, and mind are without fault, the power of livelihood should not be despised, livelihood is praised by the wise, and the effort to initiate the activity of enlightenment is the activity of wisdom. Dependent arising, non-contradiction, being free from dense views, dispelling the darkness and dimness of ignorance, causing the darkness of ignorance to disappear, and causing all phenomena to fully obtain the light of wisdom, is the activity of wisdom. Following the ten dedications, regarding the perfections as "coming," regarding skillful means as "going," and the mind entering the aspect of enlightenment, is the activity of wisdom. Giving, discipline, listening, fully seeking insight and quiescence, and fully seeking the accumulations of merit and wisdom without weariness, is the activity of wisdom. The activity praised by the Buddhas, being free from the disturbances of demons and all afflictions, obscuring, cutting off, and the complete cessation of all cycles of existence, in order to fully ripen all sentient beings, being in accordance with the wisdom of taming, diligently upholding the sacred Dharma, the direct perception that purifies the Buddha-fields, and the manifestation of clear wisdom, and doing such activities, this is the activity of wisdom, the tenth possessing the true and excellent Dharma. Alas! These ten sons of the Buddhas are the wisdom activities of the Bodhisattvas. Abiding in these activities, the Bodhisattvas, with the great wisdom of the Tathagatas as their guide, are skilled in accomplishment and will obtain the unsurpassed fruit. Alas! These ten sons of the Buddhas are the blessings of the demons for the Bodhisattvas. What are the ten? As follows, discouragement is the blessing of the demons. Mental confusion is the blessing of the demons. Being satisfied with little is the blessing of the demons. Being unable to tolerate even one is the blessing of the demons. Not particularly focusing on aspirations is the blessing of the demons. Wanting to dispel afflictions and attain peace
