To enable the complete realization of Buddhahood, and to receive the Buddha of suchness extensively. O sons of the Victorious Ones, these ten are the Buddhas to be seen by Bodhisattvas. By abiding in them, Bodhisattvas will attain the unsurpassed vision of the Tathagata. O sons of the Victorious Ones, these ten are the activities of the Buddhas for Bodhisattvas. What are the ten? Thus, to encourage at the appropriate time in order to inspire devotion to genuine diligence is the activity of the Buddha. To show the Buddha in dreams in order to truly encourage past roots of virtue is the activity of the Buddha. To teach the Sutra Pitaka that has not been heard before for the sake of wisdom without doubt is the activity of the Buddha. To closely accomplish the karma that arises from being completely oppressed by the revolving of remorse for the sake of a mind without doubt is the activity of the Buddha. If a mind of stinginess, a mind between perverse wisdom, a mind of a Hearer, a mind of a Solitary Buddha, a mind of doubt and hesitation, a mind attached to that, and a mind of pride arise, to stay in front of the body of the Tathagata adorned with marks and to avert them in order to manifest past roots of virtue is the activity of the Buddha. When there is a famine of hearing the Dharma, to cause the hearing of such Dharma by which one will obtain the wisdom of dharani by hearing, and to closely show the wisdom of direct knowledge, and to apply diligence to the immeasurable benefit of sentient beings because of extremely pure faith, this is the sixth activity of the Buddha. If an activity of Mara occurs, either in the manner of a sound being proclaimed from the sphere of space, or in the manner of passing through the limbs, to make known those activities of Mara by various means, and to understand, to want to clarify, and having heard that, to subdue with great superior intention, and thus to act, this is the seventh activity of the Buddha. Having diligently accomplished aspiration prayers in the past, thereby completely protecting from the mind of immediate retribution, and entering without the faults of Hearers and Solitary Buddhas.

Completely cutting off the outflows that connect to the cycle of existence, and perfectly accomplishing the bonds that connect to cutting off, and manifestly accomplishing great compassion for sentient beings, and even though desiring to perfectly accomplish conduct, but the union is nirvana, this is the ninth activity of the Buddha, which becomes the cause for conduct never ceasing.

Those heroes will attain the unsurpassed, self-arising activities that do not rely on others. O, these ten sons of the King are the deeds of pride of the Bodhisattvas. What are these ten? Like this, not respecting the Lama, the object of generosity, father and mother, Shramana, Brahmin, the departed, and those who have entered the path, is the deed of pride. Not bowing to those who speak the Dharma, those who have mastered the special Dharma, those who teach the vast Dharma, those who abide in the Great Vehicle, those who know the way of arising, and those who are very skilled in Dharani and Sutras, being arrogant and haughty, not generating respect for the Dharma and the Dharma speakers, not listening respectfully, and not showing respect, is the deed of pride. Not listening to the Dharma and sitting where true words should be spoken, even if a great force of Dharma arises, not giving the Dharma speaker the word "Good!", and thinking, "Perhaps someone will come to have faith in this," is the deed of pride. Generating excessive pride, praising oneself and denigrating others, not maintaining one's own warmth and not generating definite realization, is the deed of pride. Generating high pride, knowingly concealing the good qualities of those who are worthy of praise, speaking unpleasant words, and not being happy when others' virtues are praised, this is the deed of pride. Knowing that "This is the Dharma, this is the Vinaya, this is the true word of the Buddha," being angry with the person and angry with the Dharma, abandoning the Dharma, and also refuting it in other ways, is the deed of pride. Desiring a high seat, seeking the Dharma that should be cherished, liking to sit where others serve, not standing up for the elderly elders and those who have long practiced pure conduct, not being humble, and not being respectful, is the deed of pride. Making a face with angry wrinkles and not smiling, not having gentle and soft words, always seeking faults with an arrogant mind and looking for opportunities, is the deed of pride. Falling into excessive pride, not going to, not relying on, not approaching, and not serving the wise.
