Being supreme in the world, I am the lord of the world, and I shall completely eliminate birth and death. Speaking thus, one makes such a great lion's roar. O sons of the buddhas, this is the lion's roar of the bodhisattvas. Abiding in this, the bodhisattvas will obtain the unsurpassed great lion's roar of the tathāgatas. O sons of the buddhas, this is the pure giving of the bodhisattvas. What are the ten? Thus, because there is no inequality towards sentient beings, it is the giving of equanimity of mind; because of accomplishing all intentions, it is the giving that satisfies as desired; because the beneficial things are not diminished, it is the giving without disturbance; because of knowing the superior and inferior persons, it is the giving according to what is appropriate; because of not hoping for different results, it is the giving without fear; because of abandoning all clinging of the mind, it is the giving of complete and extreme generosity; because of purifying by giving what has not been given, it is the giving of completely giving away without any miserliness towards internal and external things; because of completely abandoning conditioned and unconditioned things, it is the giving of completely dedicating to enlightenment; because one should follow the essence of enlightenment until the end, it is the giving of completely maturing those sentient beings; and the purity of giving and receiving, and because of thinking of giving as equal to the sky, it is the giving of completely purifying the three spheres. O sons of the buddhas, this is the pure giving of the bodhisattvas. Abiding in this, the bodhisattvas will obtain the unsurpassed purity of the great giving of the tathāgatas. O sons of the buddhas, this is the pure discipline of the bodhisattvas. What are the ten? Discipline, in order to make all gods and humans masters, the discipline of all trainings without being broken; because of not desiring the vehicle of the Two Vehicles, the discipline of purity by completely protecting the mind of enlightenment; because even the slightest fault is regarded as fearful, the discipline of all the Tathagatas' teachings and trainings without being broken and pure; in order to liberate all sentient beings from falling, the discipline of being separated from taming; in order to emphasize the yidam of all virtuous dharmas, the discipline of purity by not doing all sins; in order to be without arrogance, the discipline of completely abandoning all views of objects; in order to manifest the power of great compassion, the discipline of purity by following all beings.
