They are different. As they think, they engage in practice, therefore the speech of the Bodhisattvas goes to all beings. O sons of the Conqueror, these ten are the speech of the Bodhisattvas. Abiding in them, the Bodhisattvas will obtain the unsurpassed speech of the Tathāgata. O sons of the Conqueror, the speech of the Bodhisattva is thoroughly cultivated by ten kinds of purified actions. What are the ten? They are as follows: purified faith in the speech of the Tathāgata; purified profound faith in the words of the Bodhisattva that have not been heard before; purified by completely abandoning words that are displeasing to all beings; purified by being free from the four faults of speech at the beginning; purified by praising the Tathāgata with joy and great faith; purified by uttering the qualities and virtues of the Buddha with a great voice, as the Tathāgata deserves to be honored; purified by giving the Dharma to other sentient beings with a firm mind, gathering them; purified by praising the Tathāgata with the sounds of songs, musical instruments, striking, and playing; purified by hearing the Dharma directly from the Buddhas, the Bhagavat; purified by offering one's own body, and by hearing the Dharma from all the Dharma-speaking Bodhisattvas, offering oneself for the sake of service, and completely giving from the bottom of one's heart. O sons of the Conqueror, the speech of the Bodhisattva arises from being thoroughly cultivated by these ten purified actions. O sons of the Conqueror, the speech of the Bodhisattvas, thus thoroughly cultivated, is also taken up by ten kinds of holding. What are the ten? They are as follows: all the gods, including Indra, are the ones who take it up. The Naga king, the Yaksha king, the Gandharva king, the Asura king, the Garuda king, the Kinnara king, the Mahoraga king, and all the gods belonging to the Brahma realm, including the Brahma king, are the ones who

will be taken up. The Tathagata, the Lord of Dharma, and all those who speak the Dharma will also be completely taken up. O sons of the Victorious One! The speech of the Bodhisattva will be completely upheld, and will be extremely taken up by these ten. O sons of the Victorious One! The speech of the Bodhisattva, being so extremely taken up, will also accomplish ten necessities. What are the ten? Thus, it makes the realm of sentient beings appear joyful. It makes it known in the world realm. It causes entry into the realm of faculties. It makes the realm of faith completely pure. It eliminates the realm of afflictions. It abandons the realm of habitual tendencies. It tames the realm of thoughts. It increases the realm of superior intention. It expands the realm of Dharma. It makes one truly realize the realm of Nirvana. It will accomplish these ten necessities. O sons of the Victorious One! These ten are the minds of the Bodhisattvas. What are the ten? Because they truly hold and rely on the roots of virtue of all beings, the minds of the Bodhisattvas are like the earth. Because they enter the vast ocean of wisdom of all Buddhas, which is without end or middle, the minds of the Bodhisattvas are like the ocean. In order to establish all beings in the extremely high transcendental roots of virtue, the minds of the Bodhisattvas are like the great mountain king. Because they are free from all defilements and possess pure intention, the minds of the Bodhisattvas are like precious jewels. Because they are extremely sharp in all Dharmas, the minds of the Bodhisattvas are like vajras. Because they are not moved by all demons, non-Buddhists, and other opponents, the minds of the Bodhisattvas are like the indestructible wheel-fence of the mountain king Vajra, which is extremely stable. Because they are not stained by all worldly Dharmas, the minds of the Bodhisattvas are like lotuses. Because they appear in all kalpas and are difficult to see, the minds of the Bodhisattvas are like Udumbara flowers. Because they dispel the darkness of ignorance of all beings

To dispel the darkness of dimness, the minds of Bodhisattvas are like the sun. Because all beings are beyond expression, the minds of Bodhisattvas are like space. O ten sons of the King, these are the minds of the Bodhisattvas. Abiding in these, the Bodhisattvas will attain the vast, pure, and unsurpassed intention of the Tathagatas. O ten sons of the King, these are the aspirations of the Bodhisattvas. What are the ten? They are as follows: The Bodhisattva generates the mind, saying, 'I shall thoroughly liberate all beings.' The Bodhisattva generates the mind, saying, 'I shall pacify the afflictions of all sentient beings.' The Bodhisattva generates the mind, saying, 'I shall abandon all the boundaries of habitual tendencies.' The Bodhisattva generates the mind, saying, 'I shall attain all dharmas without doubt.' The Bodhisattva generates the mind, saying, 'I shall thoroughly pacify the aggregates of suffering of all sentient beings.' The Bodhisattva generates the mind, saying, 'I shall cut off all the unfortunate realms and inauspicious circumstances.' The Bodhisattva generates the mind, saying, 'I shall please all the Tathagatas.' The Bodhisattva generates the mind, saying, 'I shall diligently engage in all the trainings of the Bodhisattvas.' The Bodhisattva generates the mind, saying, 'In every pore of my skin, I shall completely show all beings the enlightenment of all Buddhas.' The Bodhisattva generates the mind, saying, 'Having thoroughly understood the thoughts and faculties of all beings without exception, I shall make it known in all realms and beat the unsurpassed drum of Dharma.' O ten sons of the King, these are the aspirations of the Bodhisattvas. Abiding in these, the Bodhisattvas will accomplish the unsurpassed activity of the vast intention of the Tathagatas. O ten sons of the King, these are the vastnesses that fill the minds of the Bodhisattvas. What are the ten? They are as follows: Because they possess an extremely vast mind, they fill all of space.
