How should I understand it? What are the four? They are as follows: The great mandala of the wind of wisdom of the Tathagata, which gathers and makes all beings happy, is called this; the great mandala of the wind of wisdom, which teaches the Dharma in various ways and makes beings believe, is called this; the great mandala of the wind of wisdom, which protects all roots of virtue, is called this; the great mandala of the wind of wisdom, which understands all samsara in the realm of the uncontaminated, is called this. O sons of the Victorious Ones, these four are the great mandalas of the wind of wisdom that dwell in the unattached light of wisdom. They arise to protect all beings with great love, and to liberate and embrace all beings with great compassion. The Bodhisattva who dwells in great love and great compassion, in the midst of the vastness of the various distinctions of many beings, with great love dwelling in skillful means, enables all sentient beings to live in close proximity. O sons of the Victorious Ones, the emergence of the Tathagata is accomplished in this way, and abides in this way. The unattached light of wisdom does not abide. O sons of the Victorious Ones, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva should also understand the arising of the birth of the Tathagatas, the Arhats, the perfectly complete Buddhas, through this ninth gate of understanding. O sons of the Victorious Ones, again, for example, the formation of the three thousand great thousand world realms is that countless beings live in close proximity with various uses. For example, the beings who dwell in water also live in close proximity by their dwelling place; the beings who dwell on the earth also live in close proximity by the countless forms that exist on the earth; the beings who dwell in palaces also live in close proximity by the palaces; the beings who dwell in the sky also live in close proximity by the place of space. O sons of the Victorious Ones, similarly, the perfect accomplishment of the Tathagata also enables all beings to live in close proximity with countless forms. For example, delighting in seeing and hearing, and believing and

Sentient beings who have transmigrated also live in proximity by seeing the Buddha. Those who abide in the power of the strength of morality also live in proximity by the morality of the Buddha. Those who abide in meditation and immeasurability also live in proximity by the supernormal knowledge of the noble ones who have transcended the world. Those who abide in the appearance of the door of Dharma also live in proximity by not exhausting resources. Those who abide in non-appearance also live in proximity by not exhausting the boundless Dharma. Therefore, the perfect accomplishment of the Thus-Gone One is the proximity of all beings, it should be said. O sons of the Victorious One, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva should also comprehend the arising of the birth of the Thus-Gone One, the Arhat, the Perfectly Complete Buddha, through this tenth door of comprehension. O sons of the Victorious One, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva's teaching of the arising of the Thus-Gone One should be understood as follows: Because of the immeasurable accomplishment of conduct, it should be known as immeasurable. Because it completely fills all ten directions, it should be known as extremely vast. Because it is free from the place of birth and destruction, it should be known as without taking and abandoning. Because it is free from mind, intellect, and consciousness, it should be known as without going and free from going. Because it is like the nature of space, it should be known as without body. Because all sentient beings are without self, it should be known as equal. Because it has become an inexhaustible field for all sentient beings, it should be known as inexhaustible. Because the continuum does not cease until the end of the final limit, it should be known as irreversible. Because the wisdom of the Thus-Gone One has no opponent, it should be known as unseizable. Because he has understood the equality of conditioned and unconditioned phenomena, it should be known as non-dual. Because he has completely accomplished the distinctions of the thoughts of sentient beings who were previously fully ripened, it should be known as the proximity of all beings. O sons of the Victorious One, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva should know the teaching of the arising and perfect accomplishment of the Thus-Gone One through those and other various pure, various distinct, immeasurable, and extremely revealed modes.
