From a single rain, various and numerous forms descend. The Buddhas, each different, perfect the ultimate of true knowledge. They speak of ten self-born doors, or twenty, or a hundred. Or they may speak of hundreds, thousands, immeasurable multitudes. Yet, they do not make distinctions within the realm of Dharma. The chief of all who move by hand, the Naga King, the great Gangchen Sea (Mount Kailash and Lake Manasarovar), fills these four continents entirely with a net of clouds. In all places, it sends down rains of various kinds. The lord of the Gangchen Sea is undivided in that. The Buddhas, the lord of all beings, the holy Dharma King also, through the power of great compassion, expands his body like a cloud, enters the path of enlightenment, and sends down excellent Dharma rain. To all the non-conceptual worlds, he speaks of others and others. The Sutra Called "Buddha Marvelous Extremely Vast," in Eleven Volumes. Having spoken thus, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva, glorious with the lineage of the Tathagata, spoke thus to the Bodhisattva Mahasattva Samantabhadra: 'O son of the Victorious One, how does a Bodhisattva Mahasattva comprehend the mind-born of the Tathagatas, the Arhats, the Perfectly Awakened Ones?' Having spoken thus, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva Samantabhadra spoke thus to the Bodhisattva Mahasattva, glorious with the lineage of the Tathagata: 'O son of the Victorious One, the Tathagatas do not discriminate with the mind, do not discriminate with the intellect, do not discriminate with consciousness. O son of the Victorious One, the mind-born of the Tathagatas is to be comprehended by the immeasurable wisdom of the Tathagatas. O son of the Victorious One, it is like this: for example, relying on space, all things are discriminated, yet space does not abide. O son of the Victorious One, likewise, relying on the wisdom of the Tathagatas, all knowledge, worldly and beyond worldly, is discriminated, yet the wisdom of the Tathagatas does not abide. O son of the Victorious One, with this first door of comprehension, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva'

Its meaning should be understood. O sons of the Victorious Ones, again, for example, in the realm of Dharma, all Śrāvakas are liberated. All Pratyekabuddhas are also liberated. Although all Bodhisattvas are rightly born, the realm of Dharma neither increases nor decreases. O sons of the Victorious Ones, likewise, relying on the wisdom of the Tathāgata, all enumerated consciousnesses of the world and beyond the world are distinguished, and all crafts and occupations are distinguished, yet the wisdom of the Tathāgata neither increases nor decreases. O sons of the Victorious Ones, with this second door of understanding, Bodhisattva-Mahāsattvas should also understand the intention of the Tathāgatas, Arhats, Samyaksaṃbuddhas. O sons of the Victorious Ones, again, for example, the four great continents and eighty hundred thousand small continents are manifestly abandoned by the great ocean. Wherever the earth element diminishes, water arises from there, yet the great ocean has no discrimination. O sons of the Victorious Ones, likewise, the minds and thoughts of all sentient beings are manifestly moistened by the wisdom of the Tathāgata. From whatever object they contemplate, on whatever they discriminate, and in whatever Dharma gate they diligently practice, from there arises the light of wisdom. Although the great ocean of the Tathāgata's wisdom is equal, non-discriminating, and does not analyze sequentially, due to the difference in intention and effort, there is also a difference in the light of the Tathāgata's wisdom. O sons of the Victorious Ones, with this third door of understanding, Bodhisattva-Mahāsattvas should also understand the intention of the Tathāgatas, Arhats, Samyaksaṃbuddhas. O sons of the Victorious Ones, again, for example, in the great ocean, there are four great precious jewels, complete with immeasurable qualities. Due to the splendor and power of those precious jewels, all jewels arise in the great ocean. O sons of the Victorious Ones,

If those four precious jewels were to disappear completely from the great ocean, then not even one precious jewel would exist in the great ocean. What are those four? They are: the great precious jewel called "Perfectly Gathering All Jewels," the great precious jewel called "Inexhaustible Treasury," the great precious jewel called "Without Regret," and the great precious jewel called "Perfectly Gathering All Ornaments." These four precious jewels possess immeasurable and perfect qualities. O son of the king! Those four great precious jewels cannot be seen by the eyes of asuras with poor merit, nor by garudas, nor by nagas, nor by other sentient beings dwelling in water. Why is that? Because those four great precious jewels reside in the treasury of the Ganga Lake of the Naga King. O son of the king! Those four great precious jewels are square, arranged in the four directions of the Naga King's Ganga Lake. O son of the king! Similarly, in the great ocean of wisdom of the Tathagatas, Arhats, Perfectly Awakened Buddhas, there are four great wisdom jewels, endowed with merit, wisdom, and perfect qualities. Through the radiance and power of those great wisdom jewels, from the great ocean of wisdom of the Tathagatas, arise the wisdom jewels of all learners, non-learners, all solitary realizers, and all Bodhisattvas. O son of the king! If those four great wisdom jewels were to disappear completely from the great ocean of wisdom of the Tathagatas, then even a small wisdom jewel of a single Bodhisattva would not arise from the great ocean of wisdom of the Tathagatas. What are those four? They are: the great wisdom jewel of skillful means without attachment, the great wisdom jewel of thoroughly understanding the equality of conditioned and unconditioned dharmas, and the non-difference of the Dharmadhatu.
