They correctly show the way of beginning, middle, and end. This is the eighth skillful means of enlightenment of the Buddhas, the Bhagavat. The Buddhas, the Bhagavat, although without names, have manifestly awakened to the realm where all phenomena that arise as names and kinds are extremely resonant with words and letters. They are not past names, not future names, not names that appear in the present, not names of sentient beings, not names of fields, not names of dharmas, not names of qualities, not names of bodhisattvas, not names of Buddhas, not names of numbers, not names of the countless, not names of birth, not names of cessation, not names of non-existence, not names of existence, not names of oneness, not names of difference, not names of all. And they also understand that all phenomena are by nature inexpressible, without direction, without signs, without the path of words, separate from sound, and that all forms of sound do not arise. They have no complete accomplishment, no doing or differentiating, not one form, and not many forms. And for all speech and actions, they are those who have attained the supreme perfection of going beyond, those who have no object of conceptualization. They are those who strive diligently without manifest action. They are those in whom conception, complete conception, and thorough conception have ceased. They are those who act without abiding in all actions. This is the ninth skillful means of enlightenment of the Buddhas, the Bhagavat. The Buddhas, the Bhagavat, are those who know well that the form of all phenomena is unborn, without the elaboration of feeling, without the enumeration of perception, without the pervasive movement of formations, without the close grasping of consciousness, and they know well that it is peaceful by nature. All phenomena have no continuum of sources of arising, the elements have no object, all phenomena are indestructible, all phenomena are immovable, and their nature is like space. All phenomena are solitary, without karma, without maturation, without arising from action, and unestablished.
