All those vast and boundless areas appear like the mandala of the sun. All kinds of precious and extremely fine particles, as well as gem gravel spread everywhere, and various exquisite gem ornaments, and extremely tiny gem dust, and even the gravel formed by extremely tiny gem dust, in these subtle places, images appear to each other. There is neither narrowness due to smallness nor wideness due to largeness, but the true nature of things is revealed as it is, without confusion. Just as the great rivers flow out from the four directions of Lake Manasarovar, the great rivers of Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas' four different correct understandings also flow towards the ocean of omniscient wisdom. Just as the Ganges River flows from the mouth of an elephant, appearing silver in color, and carrying silver sand, so too, Bodhisattvas, through purifying white virtuous dharmas, correctly understand different meanings, thereby completely purifying all the actions of the Tathagatas, thoroughly purifying the nature of all meanings, making the appearance of all dharmas clear and distinct, and flowing to the end of the unobstructed ocean. Just as the Sita River flows from the mouth of a lion, appearing diamond-like in color, and carrying diamond sand, so too, Bodhisattvas correctly understand different dharmas, proclaiming the Buddha's vajra words, benefiting all beings, and carrying the vajra words of wisdom, ultimately reaching the ocean of non-attachment. Just as the Sindhu River flows from the mouth of an ox, appearing golden in color, and carrying gold sand, so too, Bodhisattvas correctly understand different definitive words, thereby mastering all sentient beings, making them non-conflicting, satisfying all beings, and maturing all beings in a completely pure manner, and always striving for taming, ultimately reaching the ocean of dependent origination and emptiness. Just as the Pakshu River flows from the mouth of a horse, appearing blue like lapis lazuli

Having dwelt there, just as the sand of blue beryl pours forth and flows, so too, the inexhaustible and diverse courage of the Bodhisattva, also manifesting countless inexpressible billions of kotis, and generating the river that causes the stream of the sacred Dharma to flow constantly, pouring down from the ocean of all dharmas, heading towards the Dharma ocean of all Bodhisattvas. Just as those four great rivers circumambulate the great Anavatapta Lake to the right, and from the four directions head towards the ocean, so too, the Bodhisattva is endowed with the harmonious action of body, endowed with the harmonious action of speech, endowed with the harmonious action of mind, and endowed with the harmonious wisdom going before. Just as those head towards the great ocean from the four directions, so too, the Bodhisattva also heads towards the ocean of all-seeing wisdom from the four directions. What are the four? Namely: by focusing on the Buddha, it is the direction of seeing all Buddhas; namely: the action of the body, holding with the inexpressible dharani, it is the direction of manifesting all dharmas; namely: for the sake of completely perfecting all the conduct of the Bodhisattva, it is the direction of the paramitas; for the sake of completely perfecting the making all sentient beings happy by turning the wheel of Dharma, it is the direction of great compassion. Just as those great rivers circumambulate seven times the islands in between, completely covered with utpala flowers, lotuses, kumuda flowers, and pundarika flowers, so too, the Bodhisattva treats with equanimity the intermediate sentient beings who have not been subdued in the interval, also pervaded by billions of kotis of samadhis, adorned with various forms of seeing the Buddha, the Buddha-field being completely pure and immaculate, pleasing to the mind. Just as the great Anavatapta Lake is completely surrounded by jewel trees, so too, the Bodhisattva, when showing the manifest attainment of enlightenment, is completely surrounded and adorned by the Buddha-field.

Just as Lake Anavatapta has fifty yojanas, is clear and without turbidity, so too, the mind of a Bodhisattva who is manifestly enlightened is complete with all roots of virtue, clear and without turbidity, and without end or middle. Just as Lake Anavatapta is surrounded by walls built of precious jewels and is filled with the fragrance of sandalwood, so too, the mind of a Bodhisattva who is manifestly enlightened is exceedingly adorned with ten million kotis of wisdom jewels, possesses the wisdom of particularly excellent aspirations, and is filled with all the fragrant roots of virtue. Just as Lake Anavatapta is completely adorned with gravel of all precious jewels and is beautified with various kinds of precious gems, so too, the memory of the Bodhisattva's wisdom that comprehends the subtle is adorned with the inconceivable precious jewels of the Bodhisattva's liberation, and by practicing in the realm of all Buddhas without obstruction to all phenomena that presently arise, he enters into all that is to be known of time. Just as the great Naga King Anavatapta is completely free from all torment and unease, so too, the Bodhisattva is free from all worldly torment and fear, and although he appears to abide in all worlds, he is not stained by all the worlds. Just as those four great rivers manifestly moisten Jambudvipa, completely moisten it, and then rush towards the great ocean, so too, the Bodhisattva, with four great rivers of wisdom, manifestly moistens the gods and the world, including Brahma, including the ascetics and Brahmins, and goes towards the ocean of wisdom of unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment, adorned with the ten powers. What are the four? They are: the river of the wisdom of aspiration, which flows continuously to protect all beings and to tame all beings; the river of the perfection of the perfections, which is exceedingly pure due to the pure conduct of the Bodhisattva; the mind
