It is joy. It is the path that greatly transcends the world. It abides in the Dharma nature of the Bodhisattva. It thoroughly abides in the laughter of the Bodhisattva. It follows the equality of the three times. It is determined to be of the Tathagata lineage because of its extreme devotion to perfect enlightenment. O sons of the Victorious Ones! A Bodhisattva who abides in such a Dharma aspect abides thoroughly in the Ground of Utter Joy of the Bodhisattva in an unwavering manner. O sons of the Victorious Ones! Therein, a Bodhisattva who abides in the Ground of Utter Joy of the Bodhisattva has much utter joy. There is much mental happiness. There is much faith. There is much satisfaction. There is much contentment. There is much delight. There is much effort. There is much harmlessness. There is much absence of anger. O sons of the Victorious Ones! Thus, a Bodhisattva who abides in the Ground of Utter Joy of the Bodhisattva remembers the Buddhas, the Bhagavat, and rejoices greatly. He remembers the Dharmas of the Buddhas and rejoices greatly. He remembers the Bodhisattvas, the great beings, and rejoices greatly. He remembers the conduct of the Bodhisattva and rejoices greatly. He remembers the purification of the Paramitas and rejoices greatly. He remembers the qualities of the Bodhisattva Ground and rejoices greatly. He remembers the unassailable sphere of activity of the Bodhisattva and rejoices greatly. He remembers the instructions and body of the Tathagata and rejoices greatly. He remembers the attainment of the benefit of sentient beings and rejoices greatly. He remembers the means of entering the wisdom of all the Tathagatas and rejoices greatly. Has become the place of all. Thus generating great joy. I will be able to see all the Tathagatas and be close to them. Thus generating great joy. I will truly appear in the realm of all the Tathagatas. Thus generating great joy. I have become one who possesses the equality of all Bodhisattvas. Thus generating great joy. I am free from all fear, shyness, terror, and trembling. Thus generating great joy. Why is that? O sons of the Conqueror, like this, as soon as a Bodhisattva attains this Joyful Ground of the Bodhisattva, these aspects of fear are no more, like this: the fear of not having a livelihood, the fear of not being praised, the fear of death, the fear of bad destinies, the fear of shyness in the retinue, all of these are not there for him. Why is that? Like this, he is free from the thought of self, therefore he does not even think of cherishing himself, let alone cherishing all the resources. Therefore, he has no fear of not having a livelihood. He has not even the slightest hope of being served by anyone, but rather he himself thinks of accomplishing the affairs of those sentient beings with many resources. Therefore, he has no fear of not being praised. He is free from the view of self, therefore he has no thought of self, therefore he has no fear of death. Even after I die, I will not be devoured by ghosts, and I will not be separated from the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. Therefore, he has no fear of bad destinies.
