Obtained with greatness. Like the environment being independent, the eighth one obtains power. The ninth one is like the glorious Asura who removes impurities. The tenth one is like Mount Meru, the abode of the gods, possessing the goodness of the victorious ones. First, the preliminary aspiration, the collection of ethics of the superiors. Third, the qualities of conduct, fourth, the essence of one. Fifth, much merit, sixth, the essence of extreme profundity. Eighth, vast wisdom, not a single ornament of all. Ninth, the wise one possesses subtle and profound wisdom. All sentient beings are greatly suppressed by possessing wisdom. Tenth, among all the Buddhas, the one who truly upholds the Dharma. The conduct of the Bodhisattva is like the immovable ocean. Transcending the ten conducts, the initial mind will arise. With asceticism and endurance, the second, the third with meditation. With purity as the fourth, extreme purity as the fifth. Sixth, with sharpness, realization, the seventh, the irreversible ground. Eighth, possessing the great power of the Vajra banner. Ninth, knowing the dense conduct by possessing wisdom. Tenth, like the empowerment by the Buddhas, like the king obtaining power. The qualities of preciousness increase in order with purity. One can destroy and count all the fields of all directions. With one consciousness, one can know the minds of all beings. One might be able to measure all the expanse of the sky with hair. But one cannot describe the qualities of the Buddhas in hundreds of thousands of eons. The Tathagata, the Arhat, the Perfectly Enlightened One, having manifested, said: Making the mind joyful, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva Vajragarbha spoke thus. The Bhagavan, dwelling among the gods of Paranirmitavasavartin, not long after attaining enlightenment, when the second seven days arrived, dwelt in the immeasurable palace of the King of Gods, the Lord of Power, which was made of the essence of precious jewels. The Bodhisattva Vajragarbha was very pleased with what was said. All those Bodhisattva retinues, as well as the gods, nagas, yakshas, gandharvas, asuras, Indra, Brahma, the protectors of the world, the great Ishvara, and all the retinues belonging to the pure realms, were also very pleased. This is the thirty-first chapter, the chapter on the Ten Bhumis. The thirty-first chapter, the chapter on the Ten Bhumis.
