It should not be known. Hey, son of the Buddha, like this, for example, the wheel-turning king rides on the precious elephant of divine substance and also goes to the four continents. He fully knows the suffering, poverty, and all the faults of afflictions of humans, but he will not be defiled by those faults. By that alone, he is not completely beyond the human body. When he abandons the human body and is born in the world of Brahma, he dwells in the palace of Brahma and also sees the thousand world realms. He also goes to those places and universally shows the image of Brahma, and is not called a human either. Hey, son of the Buddha, similarly, from the first bodhisattva ground onwards, the bodhisattva rides on the vehicle of the perfections and when wandering in all beings, he also fully knows all the faults of afflictions, and because he has entered the correct path, he will not be defiled by those afflictions either. However, by that alone, it should not be known that he has completely transcended the faults of afflictions of the seven grounds. When he abandons all conditioned actions and completely surpasses from the seven grounds to the eighth ground, riding on the completely pure bodhisattva vehicle, and when wandering in all beings, he also fully knows all the faults of afflictions, and because he has transcended all worldly affairs, it should not be said that he is defiled by those faults. Hey, son of the Buddha, the bodhisattva who dwells on the seventh bodhisattva ground also greatly transcends all afflictions such as desire. The bodhisattva who practices on the seventh bodhisattva ground should neither be called afflicted nor called unafflicted. Why is that? Because all afflictions have no movement, he should not be called afflicted. Because he desires the wisdom of the Tathagata and his intention is not yet complete, he should not be called unafflicted either. Thus, the bodhisattva who dwells on the seventh bodhisattva ground has the bodily action that is completely purified by higher intention. Completely by higher intention

He possesses pure speech karma and possesses pure mental karma with excellent intention. That is to say, all the unwholesome paths of action that are condemned by the Tathagata and accompanied by afflictions have been completely and thoroughly transcended. He always constantly follows those virtuous paths praised by the perfectly enlightened Buddha. Moreover, how the Bodhisattva manifests and accomplishes the skillful means and activities in the fifth bhumi, all of these naturally arise. He is to be regarded as a teacher in the three-thousand great-thousand world realm, and no one except the Tathagata, Arhat, perfectly enlightened Buddha, and Bodhisattvas above the eighth bhumi can match him in thought or action. Furthermore, all these meditations, samadhis, attainments, superknowledges, and liberations manifest through the means of cultivating and accomplishing them, but they are still not as completely perfect in terms of fruition as those of the eighth bhumi Bodhisattva. Therefore, for all the Bodhisattva's aspirations while abiding in this seventh bhumi, wisdom, skillful means, and the power of cultivation will be completely perfected, and he will attain all the complete aspects of enlightenment even more than before. When he abides in this seventh Bodhisattva bhumi, he can enter into the samadhi of the Bodhisattva called "Extremely Well Differentiated Various Distinctions," and the samadhi of the Bodhisattva called "Extremely Well Considered Meaning," and that called "Excellent Wisdom," and that called "Treasure of Well Differentiated Meaning," and that called "Differentiating According to Reality," and that called "Firm Because the Root is Extremely Established," and that called "Gate of Wisdom and Superknowledge," and that called "Completely Purified Dharmadhatu," and that called "Qualities of the Tathagata," and that called "Wheel of the Treasury of Various Meanings."
