There is not even a little of what I have to do like that. These are like this: completely giving away servants and attendants, or completely giving away the kingdom, or completely giving away enjoyment, or wealth and grain, and jewels and gold treasures, completely giving away warehouses, and horses and elephants, and vehicles and mounts, or completely giving away precious ornaments and ribbons, and completely giving away wives and sons and daughters, or completely giving away the dignity of heads and hands and feet and limbs, or completely giving away the entire body, all of which are not given away for the sake of the Dharma. Whatever is done to honor and serve the lama, there is nothing that is not accepted. Completely giving up pride and excessive pride, whatever is practiced without pride, there is nothing that is not accepted. Whatever harm to the body, there is nothing that is not accepted. Therefore, hearing one word of the Dharma that has not been heard is considered a great treasure, not because one has obtained a pile of jewels filling the entire three thousand great thousand worlds. Hearing one well-spoken verse will make the mind happy, but not because one has remained in the position of Indra and Brahma and the wheel-turning king for hundreds of thousands of kalpas. To this, some say to others like this: If you can throw your body into a great pit of fire, and experience with your own body a great mass of painful feelings, I will tell you the words of the perfect and complete Dharma taught by the Buddha, and the complete training of the practice of the Bodhisattva. Even so, they would think like this, for the sake of the words of the perfect and complete Dharma taught by the Buddha, and for the meaning of the complete training of the practice of the Bodhisattva, even if the three thousand great thousand worlds were filled with fire, I would rather abandon myself from the Brahma world, let alone abandon myself in an ordinary pit of fire? Therefore, even if I experience all the suffering of sentient beings in hell, I should seek the Dharma, what difference is there compared to the suffering of fire?
