And also ask this Liberation Moon (name of a venerable one). Before the sons of the Victorious Ones, Please fully explain the second ground. With what kind of mental conception, Will the second ground be attained? Please explain with great wisdom. The sons of the Victorious Ones wish to listen. The Bodhisattva Vajragarbha said: O sons of the Victorious Ones, thus, a Bodhisattva who has fully trained on the first ground is manifestly inclined towards the second ground. Ten thoughts arise in his mind. What are the ten? They are as follows: the thought of uprightness, the thought of gentleness, the thought of being workable, the thought of being tamed, the thought of being pacified, the thought of being virtuous, the thought of being unmixed, the thought of being independent, the thought of being magnificent, and the thought of being of great self. These ten thoughts of mind arise, and with them, the Bodhisattva abides on the second ground, the stainless one. O sons of the Victorious Ones! The Bodhisattva who abides on the stainless ground of the Bodhisattva is by nature separated from killing. He has abandoned sticks, abandoned weapons, abandoned holding grudges, And being endowed with shame, he benefits and brings happiness to all living beings, and is endowed with a loving heart. If he does not harm living beings even with mere mental conception, what need is there to mention causing great harm to the body of another sentient being, conceiving of them as sentient beings and deliberately thinking about it? He is content with his own possessions and does not hope for the possessions of others, so he is separated from taking what is not given. He conceives of things held by others as held by others, and keeps the mind of stealing close. If he does not take even grass and leaves that are not given when they are small, what need is there to mention other necessities of life? He is content with his own wife and does not hope for the wife of another, so he is separated from sexual misconduct. He does not even give rise to attachment to women held by others, the wives of others protected by lineage, signs, and Dharma, what need is there to mention the union of two? Speaking truthfully and speaking truly, speaking at the right time, and speaking in moderation, he acts as he has spoken.
