Even if it is said that one will experience countless feelings of suffering and will never be separated from such a form of suffering that does not leave the mind for even a moment, O sons of the Victorious Ones, a Bodhisattva, for that reason, will not have even the slightest regret for generating the mind of enlightenment. Instead, they will think, 'In this way, through my power, these sentient beings will be completely liberated from such a form of suffering, and I will have obtained a well-obtained benefit.' Even if by such a method all sentient beings in all realms of the world were to completely pass beyond sorrow, a Bodhisattva should rejoice in that endeavor. Thus, even greater joy and delight will arise. O sons of the Victorious Ones, this is the fourth practice of a Bodhisattva, a great being, called 'Inexhaustible.' O sons of the Victorious Ones, what is the fifth practice of a Bodhisattva, a great being, called 'Without Bewilderment'? O sons of the Victorious Ones, in this case, a Bodhisattva possesses mindfulness, possessing excellent mindfulness that is unperturbed, undisturbed, stable, firm, indestructible, unconquerable, completely pure, vast, immeasurable, and without bewilderment. With that mindfulness, they also completely retain worldly conduct, completely retain transmundane words, completely retain words with and without form, and completely retain words based on the nature of form. They also completely retain words based on feeling, perception, formation, and consciousness. They also completely retain words for the purpose of completely knowing the nature of consciousness. Therefore, they also pass away from this world without bewilderment and are born in another world without bewilderment. They also enter the mother's womb without bewilderment and emerge from the mother's womb without bewilderment. The Bodhisattva's mind generation abides in non-bewilderment. They also please virtuous friends without bewilderment and have faith in the Buddha's Dharma without bewilderment.

Without ignorance, one thoroughly knows the deeds of all demons. Without ignorance, one abandons the deeds of all demons. Without ignorance, one abides in the conduct of a bodhisattva for inexpressible eons. That one possesses immeasurable limbs of completely pure mindfulness, namely, having heard the Dharma from the Buddhas, the Bhagavat, and bodhisattvas or virtuous friends for countless eons, it appears as profound and most profound, or the vast Dharma adornment is distinguished in various ways, or various Dharmas are taught with various words and letters, or the Dharma of the bodhisattva's adornment has the light of the Buddha's blessing, or the unsurpassed Buddha Dharma is purified by superior virtuous intention and faith, or the Dharma that does not abide in all the worlds is in accordance with and fits into the category of the world, or the vast, great Dharma is taught, or the Dharma without obscuration is to be known by the world, or the Dharma that is not common to all the worlds follows the wisdom of the bodhisattva, or the unsurpassed Dharma is taught as a vast transformation by the Dharma of omniscience. Even having heard such things for countless eons, one will not forget them, they will not decline, and they will not be interrupted. Why is that? Because when that bodhisattva mahasattva engages in conduct, he does not cause the mindfulness of any sentient being to be disturbed, he does not obstruct the understanding of the Dharma, he does not destroy the wisdom of the root of virtue, and he does not harm the minds of others. O sons of the Victorious Ones, if that bodhisattva mahasattva were to encounter such loud, high-pitched sounds, or violent sounds, or unbearable cries, or chilling sounds, or unpleasant sounds coming into the range of the ear, or unpleasant sounds coming into the range of the ear, or things that disturb the mind, or things that disturb the consciousness of the ear, or things that rob the six faculties, even if he were to associate with them, such sounds would not cause the bodhisattva's mind to waver even for an instant, and would not cause mindfulness to be disturbed.

The place will not become chaotic. The mind will not become confused. One will not transmigrate in samsara. One will not be defiled. The Bodhisattva is like this: for those pleasant and harmonious sounds, and those unpleasant and angering sounds, and those that are proclaimed in countless worlds, even just hearing a little, one will not rise from samadhi. One will not rise from the realm of practice. One will not rise from entering the Dharma. One will not rise from being single-mindedly devoted to the practice of Bodhi. One will not rise from perfectly cultivating the mind of Bodhi. One will not rise from recollecting the Buddha. One will not rise from correctly analyzing the Dharma as it is. The wisdom to ripen sentient beings will not be cut off. The knowledge of the place to purify sentient beings will not be cut off. The definite understanding of meaning will not be cut off. One will not do any sinful actions that lead to karmic obscurations. One will not accumulate any afflictions that lead to afflictive obscurations. One will not be disrespectful to any Dharma that leads to Dharma obscurations. One will not abandon any holy Dharma that leads to the destruction of the Dharma. Therefore, for such sounds, proclaimed in countless worlds, unpleasant and pleasant, not ceasing for countless eons, causing confusion, mind confusion, body confusion, sense confusion, causing intoxication, causing samsara, causing turbidity, causing extreme turbidity, causing complete turbidity. Even if disturbed, the Bodhisattva will generate this thought: I should attain inner peace by perfectly cultivating the noble Dharma. Thinking thus, he will thoroughly perceive the arising of all sounds. He will thoroughly perceive the abiding. He will thoroughly perceive the cessation. He will enter the nature of arising. He will enter the nature of cessation. He will also know that those things that utter sounds have the same nature. One will not be attached to sounds. One will not be angered by sounds. His memory will not be lost.
