I declare that the root of virtue of a Bodhisattva who generates the first thought of unsurpassed, perfect and complete enlightenment will ultimately not be exhausted. What is the reason for this? O son of the Victorious One, it is because of the need to know the different inclinations of so many sentient beings. Bodhisattvas generate the thought of unsurpassed, perfect and complete enlightenment. In this way, it is in order to manifest the various faiths of sentient beings belonging to all the worlds without exception that Bodhisattvas generate the thought of unsurpassed, perfect and complete enlightenment. It is like this: in order to enter into inclinations that have no end or middle, and in order to manifest the wise who are skilled in the different inclinations of sentient beings, Bodhisattvas generate the thought of unsurpassed, perfect and complete enlightenment. It is like this: in order to cause one sentient being to correctly enter into countless sentient beings, and in order to manifest all the inclinations that are transmitted from one inclination to another by the light of faith that cannot be expressed, and the ocean of beings, Bodhisattvas generate the thought of unsurpassed, perfect and complete enlightenment. It is like this: in order to enter into limitless inclinations towards the virtues and non-virtues that have arisen in the past, future and present, and in order to fully understand the various inclinations of all three times by means of power, and in order to manifest inclinations as they are, Bodhisattvas generate the thought of unsurpassed, perfect and complete enlightenment. It is like this: in order to enter into the knowledge of equal inclinations and unequal inclinations, and in order to cause all inclinations to correctly enter into one inclination, and in order to manifest one inclination as being equal to all inclinations, and in order to deeply enter into the power of the Thus-Gone One, Bodhisattvas generate the thought of unsurpassed, perfect and complete enlightenment. It is like this: in order to manifest the knowledge of the distinctions between inclinations that have a superior, inclinations that are unsurpassed, inclinations that have a remainder, inclinations that have no remainder, and inclinations that are equal and unequal, Bodhisattvas

Furthermore, they generate the mind for unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment. Thus, in order to manifestly awaken to the sacred state of thoroughly knowing the distinctions of all beliefs, such as beliefs that abide, beliefs that do not abide, common beliefs, uncommon beliefs, mixed beliefs, unmixed beliefs, virtuous and non-virtuous beliefs, worldly and trans-worldly beliefs, bodhisattvas generate the mind for unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment. Thus, in order to manifestly awaken with stainless wisdom and the unattached liberation of the Buddha, such as virtuous beliefs, vast beliefs, intermediate beliefs, distinct beliefs, and all definitive beliefs without exception, bodhisattvas generate the mind for unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment. Thus, in order to thoroughly engage with all the different modes of belief of all sentient realms without exception, and in order to manifestly awaken to the countless and diverse beliefs of a single sentient being, such as pure beliefs, beliefs of all defilements, vast beliefs, narrow beliefs, subtle beliefs, and extensive beliefs, bodhisattvas generate the mind for unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment. Thus, in order to manifestly awaken with the knowledge of fully understanding the equality of all networks of beliefs, such as beliefs of dense continuity, beliefs of union, beliefs of complete imputation, beliefs of naturally following, beliefs endowed with a collection of causes, and beliefs arising from a collection of conditions, bodhisattvas generate the mind for unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment. O sons of the Victorious Ones, let alone those earlier diverse examples of various beliefs! O sons of the Victorious Ones, here, when a certain person is born, merely by generating a single thought, they become fully aware of the various faculties of sentient beings belonging to countless realms of the world. In such a way, by knowing each thought that arises, even if countless eons were exhausted in the eastern direction, the eastern direction
